I like the black steelies. Never understood the fascination with big chrome rims. Rims should compliment a car......not draw all the attention. That black one with the black steelies looks awesome IMO. But I am a bit biased with regards to that color scheme.

oh and to answer your question it should be a good race, and I wouldn't be surprised to see the V6 come out on top.

Not going to happen captain. The camaro will be deficient in TQ and unless it goes sorority girl and vomits away many hundreds of pounds it will not hang with the Stang.

But back in the mid-late '90s when the Series II V6 F-bodies were facing off against the early (1996-1998) Mustang 4.6L V8s it potentially could've resulted in a little different outcome.

A well driven manual Camaro V6 versus an automatic Mustang GT might be a semi close race...but given the same transmissions and equal drivers I agree, the Mustang V8 should take the new Camaro V6 every time.

older thread.. but anyone know the weight, size and offset on these steel rims?
edit: nevermind.. got it from http://www.camaro5.com/forums/wiki.p...WHEELS___TIRES
18 x 7.5" / steel
32.9lb each (holy **** that's like almost twice the weight of the stock 4th gen wheels ...then add another 30lb for 245/55/18 tires)
+38 mm offset
on a side note... the aluminum wheels
18x7.5 23lb +38mm
19x8.0 34lb +38mm
20x8.0 32lb +35mm
20x9.0 36lb +40mm
and the big 21 inch "performance" wheels...
31.5lb front wheels +35mm and 36.1lb rear wheels +40mm

They will be a decent race for the 2011 V6 Mustang however. The Mustang having the advantage.
When they first announced the V6 Camaro with 300hp, a BUNCH of people were giggling how it was going to be faster than a Mustang GT.
I was like
I have yet to see anyone with a 2010 V6 Camaro do better than a 14.3 in the 1/4.
(I am positive there have been ones gone faster, I've just not seen one)
Decent match for a bone-stock 2v automatic. But a 3v will walk it with no problem.
*puts flame suit on* Hell I've seen a slightly modded 09 3v take a tock 2010 V8 Camaro.
Then again there is a guy on over at moddedmustangs that pulled a 13.3 on a his bone-stock 09 GT. And that's not the fastest run that's been done on those cars.
They must be really running the *&^$% out of those cars to get those numbers.
