Local Dealership Has $10,000 Markup
I went to look @ the first New Camaro in my area today and it was a Silver Camaro LT2 W/ RS and a bunch of other option and it was $30,158 and w/ the $10,000 markup they wanted $40,158 and i told them for that price i would by the Vette instead and the salesman told me the Camaro was a way better car and then they wanted to throw me out because i knew more about the Camaro then they did and they told me there is no way i know about the car because they just were released. These salesmen knew nothing about the car @ all.Pretty sad !!!!!

I also saw this car on friday night. It sure looks awesome in person. I'm a little worried because I ordered a 2ss from Suburban Chevy in October. I had this long discussion with the sales manager about how dealers mark up cars when they first come out and how I wouldn't pay a penny more than msrp. He assured me that they wouldn't do that, that they were gonna make 100k cars per year. So now there is a new sales manager who is telling me I'm not price protected against the increase and all this crap. He did tell me I would get the msrp, but I don't trust them at all. There might not be a thing I could do about the car if they decide to screw me, but I'll be camped out in front with all kinds of signs mon-fri after work and on saturdays telling the world what a rip-off they are. It really wouldn't be worth it to them,so we'll see what happens. I can't wait for my car!

Send a few emails to several Chevy Dealerships and get quotes and use that as a bargaining tool....

I told the local dealer that the new camaro was an ugly car.He said that if I was going to spend 41k that I would be better off paying 6k more for a base model vette. He told me the vette was a better car.I lot of dealers are scumballs.Look around and buy it from someone else.I would wait another 6 months.

The mark ups wont last, it is just because it is new just like the Challengers, and GT 500's, the prices will come down to were they are supposed to, and it will be all good. Im excited to see them out and about, i love the cars.
