I guess if the reaction of the public is positive enough they decide to ride the wave in time. Another thing that worries me is what Lutz said about sales expectation for it to be successful. He said a number of 150,000 to 160,000 units per year. It seems a bit high for me.

I like the look of the camaro. I think that GM needs to take it from concept to production. GM just can't let Ford rule the pony war! You know GM needs to get back into the pony wars when Dodge has entered the market as well.

but with platform sharing, i'm sure a lot of cars will be using this same RWD platform.. and perhaps that 160k can be broken up between them for it to be profitable.. who knows

There is definately going to be a 5th gen camaro in my garage either the year they come out or the year after, depending on where I stand financially. All I know is that I am completely head over heals in love with this concept and can't wait to see them on the road.

I don't know what some of you guys are complaining about?
(You must be Ford and Dodge moles trying to undermine the General)
(It will never work)
This Car is very Sexy, Muscular and Stealth, all at the same time.
I bought my 2002 Camaro brand new and I will by this one brand new too!
GM, take my advice (a qualified buyer) and build it... They will come.
Make mine with the LS7 and keep it under 3500 pounds.
I'll take mine in silver.
PS. I love the wheels, make mine black.
Now I can make my 02 Camaro an all out racer and buy this one for the street.
Camaro = 4 seats I have a family.
Corvette, nice car, but only 2 seats.
I prefer Muscle cars over Sports cars anyway.
Way to go GM
Would you like some constructive criticism?
I would delete that front scoop before the hood.
Go with a traditional Cowl Induction.
FWIW, I don't like it on the ZO6 either.

Not a surprise to me, as I was expecting to hear this. GM's stock, which had been trading around ~$20 / share for the last few weeks, surged 8% yesterday on the news that one financial anlysist said bankruptcy is unlikely for a long time, and on the news of this car. We shall see.

They will smooth out some things and it will look even better before they put it into production. remember the 05 mustang GT concept?, it wasnt exactly like what they put out for the real 05. I just hope they do it soon i want to see this thing run!!

Whether or not i need to see it in person. The problem i see in the sales department though is that as DCX and ford are already producing their new car line/body styles they are making money now. What happens in 2009 when people don't care for the retro look? It's just my opinion that GM needs to take a chance and produce faster not 2 years later when everyone else has made their money.
