other then the grill this car is BAD ***..i mean chevrolet has pulled this concept out of no where ...look at the SSR and the HHR..they were sopposed to be retro designed and in my opinion they could look a whole lot better as far as appearance...i was almost terrified to think Gm would continue this design ..on a ledgendary name as the Camaro...but no they proved me wrong, when i all but gave up hope on them (except for the new vette). The new camaro unlike the mustang has a more modern twist and a hint of retro style...to accomplish that has to take some talent to please both customer opinions that didnt want it to look completely retro ..and those that did want to see a resemblance of their beloved 69 camaro. To those that dont like it ...what else would the 5th gen look like ? Too modern might look like an fancy import...we want to keep that muscle car look alive and still going.. and i feel that this is by far one of the best looking cars chevrolet has came up with*i applaud you GM chevrolet for listening to your customers and ressurecting the ledgend we all love*

Not welcome
If this car doesn't make production wich it probably wont it will just make the '98-'02 F-body's more valuable imhop.. Im really not interested in seeing my pristine low mile garage kept '02 SS just tank in depreciation if this thing makes production.

I guess I'm one of the few that wouldn't buy it.. I think the 98-02 Camaros look much better than the concept. The whole retro thing is lame by now. It looks like it was designed by the same people that designed the Charger and Magnum.

needs to have more than enuff room in the engine bay
for a ttwin turbo system
no more fumbling trying to package a tt system like in the 4th gens
NEEDS to have a appropriate rear end
no more pos 7.5 10 bolt
definitely no IRS junk
if it comes correct like a muscle car with a lot of engine room and solid
rear strong axle like a 9 in. or even a 8.8 equivalent
ill camp outside the chevy dealership when they arrivewith the first shipment and buy that **** CASH$$
and wont even let them wash it

The car is 186.2 inches long and rides on a 110.5-inch wheelbase. The wheels are 21s at the front and 22s at the rear, shod with monster 275/30 front and 305/30 rear tires, which should be able to corral the 400 horses from the LS2 6.0-liter V-8 engine powering through a six-speed manual transmission. The show car has a cobbled together chassis with an all-independent suspension, but if it makes it into production, it will use the so-called Zeta Lite architecture that will be shared with Holden in Australia. The good news for GM is that the architecture--while hardly cutting edge--is far more sophisticated than the live-axle Mustang. Insiders say that a $20,000 base model production car could use an inexpensive V-8 (the LS2 would come in a costlier model), so a V-6 version would be offered only to make the car easier to insure. The real car would have smaller wheels, but the overall diameter of the tires wouldn't be much changed. GM vice-chairman and product czar Bob Lutz apparently loves it and joked on the show stand "all I have to do is persuade this man"--referring to GM CEO Rick Wagoner--"to pay for it." *from automobilemag.com*

The Zeta-lite is supposed to be RWD independent - strong like the vette and GTO rears. The independent rear will make for a better handling and riding car. I have an 04 Vette with the magnetic ride control and I want to drive nothing else...it is beyond awesome. For them to offer that to the 'lowly' f-body at the price target of less than 32k for the top model - that to me is astounding. The car looks remarkable in person, and sounds awesome as well. Lutz goosed the throttle all the way up the carpet at the intro and it snarled. Please people - get behind this car and lets get it built. As for the Firebird folks, there is nothing on the table at this time according to the people that I spoke with. The Solstice and GTO will suffice according to the people at Pontiac. Things can change - but only with enough demand from us.
