Just a rumor. Don't you think if GM greenlighted it they would want us to know? They need good press right now, and the only good press this entire year for them was the Camaro winning best of show. It is just a rumor.

So far, this looks like hype/wishful thinking on the part of GM High Tech.
Jeez, they can't even get their "wishful thinking" right. "Wishful thinking" would be saying that the Camaro will be available in the spring of '07 as an '08 model.

IMO look at the turn around on the Solstice, and new GMT platform trucks. They cranked out an entire line of yukons/tahoes/escalade earlier than expected and the solstice was something like a 9 month production process.

Can they release the car in spring/summer of 07 as an 08 model? Yes i think so. Will they? Who knows at this point.

the article does not say it is a 'rumor'. they state it as fact.

I'm not saying it can't change, I hope it does, but that is what it says

Thats what I say. All the people talking about this car won't even be interested in 3 years. 3 years is a long time.

I also agree. Only the die-hard Camaro fans and a few other groups will remain interested in another 3 long years, but I know I'll fall away from interest if it's any more than 1.5-2 years. There's too much else out there currently available to keep waiting.

In the magazine they also claim that the LSx based v-10 is going into production for the 2008 model light and medium duty trucks as RPO "LTA", at 7.5L and 400+ Horse.

What do ya'll think?

well if anyone is interested go to yahoo autos and click on chevy, well at the end of the line up there is a future vehicle tab, featuring the camaro, as an 08/09 model, so go check it out, for what it's worth.

Why is chevy making a 7.5L V10 for their trucks? Bad choice IMO when they've been having success with just 8 cylinders lately on their 8.1L and other HO truck engines. I think its a good selling point to say they get better mileage and make same HP as ford's V10

GMHTP has been pretty reliable for insider information over the years. In fact they reported about the C5 ZO6/LS6 well before ANY magazine did. They had the specs and hp rating nearly dead on.

Despite what GMHTP says, its not official yet! Everything points to it being okayed but there has been no word. I'm sure its just a matter of time but GMHTP is wrong.

the camaro is gonna go the same way as the ssr. come out with a cool concept->public wants it built->concept gets buit-> no one buy sit because of the costs of building it->vehicle line fails. money says itll happen close to how it happened to that cool lil hotrod.

There was nothing cool about the SSR, good riddance! It was supposed to fill the void left by the Camaro yet it was a 4000+ pound, 2 seat, 5.3 liter (when it first came out), convertible truck?! That thing should have never been built.
