I would bet on SS, but an IROC would be so awesome. Think they will have the RS option again for more of an appearance package, RS/SS again anyone?

An eco-tech camaro would sell to chicks and young students (hot looks, good MPG, light car, and light notes...you can buy a Corrola or a camaro, what would you pick?), thus lowering the cost of our cars. An interesting idea was brought up dealing with an I5 as the base engine, V6 and a plethora of V8's being offered...

z/28 for the V8 the ss needs to be the big dog with the best engine, tranny, and handling. If it is an SS this will help to restore the shine to the SS name badge.

Do you name stuff for GM? No? Then who cares what the hell you call it. There will probably be 3 like always, V6, Z, and SS. SS is common among all the cars...why would the deviate?

RyanJ...We may not name the products GM makes...but I think GM should care what we wish them to name their products for after all we have to pay the notes on their products that sit in our driveway. So who the Hell cares what you think?

It is fact that some GM big dogs do cruise through here once in awhile. If they didn't care what we thought, it's unlikely they'd have built a Camaro prototype at all.

Do you believe it's coincidence that they have resurrected names like Z28, Z06, SS, etc...?

That's funny. They built the Camaro because of the retro resurgence of Ford and Dodge (Mustang, Charger, Challenger, etc.). Its a business decision. No, its not a coincidence that they brought back those names. But I don't think they did so because one guy said they should or shouldn't on a mailing list or message board. They bring names back because its a marketing tool.

It certainly is a business decision, but it's one based on what the general public wants. Of course they care what we think, though we certainly aren't their primary concern. Also, they definately have some people on the boards to keep up with public demand - whether due to their request or due to the hobbies and passions of their employees - Scott S, for one. Personally, I vote to have the SS as top dog, though the Z28 could be setup to be more mod friendly.

I have been gone for a few days and just got back. I most definately think that GM cares what we think this car should be called. LTSpeed hit the nail on the head when he pointed out that if GM did not care about our opinions they would not have made the camaro Prototype in the first place. GM understands that the consumers will buy what they like and want, thus it is imperitive that GM care about our opinions. It is boards and threads like this that you can thank when you have a new camaro in your garage within a few years.

GM needs to rethink their calling anything with four wheels an SS, it makes me sick to see the Trailblazer SS or whatever that piece is...
They have now defamed the SS badge in much the same way as they recently defamed the GTO badge, giving it to a vehicle that is far too inferior to wear the distiguished badge...(and in reference to the GTO, I am referring solely to the horrible styling/lack of styling, thats no GTO, just make up a new name for a new vehicle!!!!)

Pontiac Dreaming, I do agree that the Goat and TBSS are great performing vehicles, but what GM has forgotten and Hydro Design is angered about is the lack of lustability...the lack of fine looks on these cars. Sure these cars look okay and perform magnificiently, but they are missing that X-Factor that GM had in the 50's through early 70's that made the world take note. Somehow America has to get back to designing cars that ppl from around the world want in their driveways!

I would like it very much if GM did something along the lines of the new Corvette. You have a base Vette, the Z06, and then possibly a SuperVette. For the Camaro you could have a base V6, then a V8 car, then the Z28 and SS, these 2 would have the flash and finally a Super Camaro, something along the lines of a ZL1. It would have V6 looks and Nasty performance, just like the ZL1 Camaro's of long ago.

Quick Reply: Top of the line Camaro...what should we call it???
