Yes but all of GM's decisions are based on what the consumers want

I will probably pay for this, but this thread is getting pretty boring. Lets spice it up a bit:

The king of the F-bodies has always been the Trans Am, so I would call the new top of the line Camaro a "Trans AM" until they finally build the bird again...

It was the eptiome of what SS could be on THAT particular car. It was the best they could do and was a really nice upgrade on the interior bits, so I think it deserves the SS badge. The Malibu....not so much. They should have put the 5.3 or something in it...

Yes and no. The Z28 never had an engine bigger than the old-school, high-rev SBC 350 in 1970, I believe, so NO it shouldn't get a huge motor.

But yes, the Z was the road race special, and in my opinion should be in a league of its own and not just another notch on the trim ladder. It needs the Cobra R treatment...

SS is the king ding-a-ling... Should put the LS7 in it.

Z28 should have the LS3, be more aimed at road racing.

I think it would be an absulte image booster if camaro could come with an optional YENKO package camaro. I mean he was pretty much our shelby. Not sure of the leagality of it being easy to acheive but put out a lemans blue or yellow with Yenko stripes and a 427 and you would be right up to shelbys level. Wheres that concept on here.

Id say the Z28 should be available with a 5.3 327 that could be picked up as cheap as $19-22,000 with little luxury options but much quicker than a GT and moddable. If it sold well it would force the other manufactures to build to the same level.

Z28 for sure. "SS" is used for too many chevy cars and trucks, some of which are not really performers in my eyes....

To be perfectly honest with you, more "poseur" cars have worn the SS badge than true muscle machines. By that measure, I pretty much see the SS name as what the current crop of SS vehicles portrays them as, not the fire-breathing strip machines that you guys seem to think all of them should be. SS simply means that the car is VERY WELL EQUIPPED. That's it.

Z28 should be "road-race god" trim level in my opinion...
