2009 Camaro VS 2009 GTO

LOL I could have bet anything that you would have voted for the GTO. And just for that, I will now contribute to my own poll and will vote for the car that I know will be faster
Actually, it had nothing to do with Jim. I was just curious to see what everyones opinions were.

the cars will share the same frame but everything else about the cars will be completely different: weight, handling charecteristics, power, etc. those of you that think its just going to be a carbon copy like the firebirds were, think again. if you read through gms press relases they state that many cars will use the zeta but look/feel/etc nothing like the camaro.

Camaro will be faster . Pontiacs are typically the "higher end" GM car, compared to the "lower class" Chevrolets. As such, GTO's will be fully loaded, no "stripper" options whatsoever, and they'll probably focus more on luxury than speed/performance. And if it's true that the Zeta platform can be worked with, maybe the GTO will be made slightly larger than the Camaro to make the car a more comfortable 5-seater instead of 4-seater?? Just a thought??

well honestly i dont think theres going to be that much competition between the 2. i do however think the Camaro willl be the faster car. But i think the real competition is going to be the Challenger. Im one of the biggest camaro guys out there but from the looks of it, i would rather take the Challenger over the Camaro...although i am glad that Chevy didnt try and totally give the looks of the '69 to the '09...leave it to mopar

From what I understand, and keep in mind this is based solely on rumors I read out of some car mag, the year after the GTO is released, there will be a very expensive Judge option that will be the equivilent to the Z06. Anyone heard this, or is hope getting the best of me?

Camaro.
Apples to Oranges. The Camaro is/will be a pony car, lighter, more nimble, less amenities. The GTO is meant in the modern day to be a touring car, thus heavier, quieter, more amenities.

The Bird is dead, and that sucks. The GTO and the top of the line Camaro will be about the same car in terms of options. The GTO will be setup for tourning and cornering while the Camaro will not have the suspension for cornering as standard but will be an option.

that being said, i sure wish the T/A would come back... but being that it doesnt look like it will, i'm rooting for the goat... hopefully very "optioned" inside as pontiacs always are, and with the muscle to compete with nearly anything. I'm not impressed with the looks of the camaro.

From what i have seen of the 06's i am not impressed.
Also from what i have herd the 09's wont look much better.
I mean look at the camero, mustang and challanger.
They all have some sort of look from the 1st gen cars. But not the Gto.
My feelings if they cant do anything with the GTO like they did to do Camero then they should let it R.I.P.
I want the Trans Am back. From what i seen of the concepts it would be bad ***.
