Default OK lets get this straight!!!

They do not look the same. Not even as close as the mustangs were close to each other.

That's because Chevy didn't Retro-design the new Camaro.

they both have the deep black girl/headlights, the rear end body lines are the same. I think the new camaro looks great, I would have changed the grill and the wheels though...

Not even close, all you guys are looking at is the damn grill and roof, the rest of the car is far more square and squatier than the 69. I think it's no closer to the 1st gens than the 4ths were and thats a GOOD THING. If I wanted a 69 I'd restomod one myself. I think this fresh NEW design is going to be what sets the Camaro apart from the Mustang in years to come. I mean, what's Ford gonna do now with the Stang make it look MORE retro? Or start modernizing it again? Either way they're screwed, and people are going to bitch worse than GTO fanatics! lol

If you want to see two things that look the same, look at the Challenger. They added nothing to that car at all. It doesn't even look like a modern interpretation at all. It looks like nothing more than a Challenger with modern components.

Okay, I exaggerated a little bit in my statement about them being the same, but if GM had pulled something like that with the Camaro, I bet there'd be a lot of disappointed people. Yes, the 1st gens are some of the best looking Camaros, but there is no need to duplicate what's already been done. That would detract from the allure of the first gen camaros and their attainability, not that they're rare or anything but it is something that a lot of people don't see on a daily basis.

Yes, the Challengers look nice and so did the Ford GT cars but do something that would give the car a little more of it's own personality.

has anyone heard of the rumors for the restyling of the mustang? the 2009 mustang looks a lot better now that they did some tweaking. supposedly its going to be completly restyled in 2012. i read about it in a magazine, i forget which, while i was waitin for the tire shop to pull a nail. http://www.moddedmustangs.com/2009-2012-mustang.html back to the topic though. i love how the new camaro has similar lines as the 1st gen. looks like GM took what was great about the 1st gen. and expanded on it.

I thought that it was funny how on this page, they say wouldn't it be nice to have 300 hp and 30 mpg. Yes, if only there was a car that could possibly get that much horsepower......

I think he is alluding more to the fuel economy.

M6 LS1's have been known to get around that fuel economy for more horsepower. That's the point I was trying to make.

Styling cues are very simliar...and apparent. However, it's clear that the new Camaro
borrowed those cues and went with a non-retro look. Nice choice.
