i would say hard top or targa! i jus feel the new maros wouldnt look that great with t-tops. but the vert would be a nice option as well.

I have a ttops and a mullet and love them both i dont want a hardtop or a vert as they wont look as good with my mullet, actually i thought when you bought a trans am with ttops you were legally required to grow a mullet??

lol naaa jus messin i think i like the hardtop best on 5th gens and dont really think ttops will look right since there designed to look more like 1st gens it just wont go right IMO just what i think though

I voted targa. If it doesn't have t-tops or targa I'll buy a low mile C6 but I agree at this point it's hard to think either would possibly look very good or even be possible.

They should offer hard-top, convertible AND a t-tops or targa roof option. When I was looking for a 4th gen, I refused to buy a Camaro with a hardtop, no matter how good the price & condition was.

Its what sets these cars apart from competitors. Mustangs haven't had them since the old Fox bodies. I like T-Tops more because it makes you feel a bit safer, plus for some reason its cooler than a targa. I wouldn't mind a targa either, as long as it doesn't have vibration and stability issues. I've been in a low mileage, well-maintained 2002 NSX and with the targa roof on at high speeds, it had an annoying rattle. NO issues with my t-tops Z28 so far, I love it. I prefer T-tops even though the targa is faster and easier to remove.

Hell, I'm willing to deal with t-top/targa leaks too cause they're not too hard to fix, but I'd rather not have it to begin with. I live in Cali also, and even when its 50 degrees outside, I still took the T-tops off.

Does anyone have the photoshops with a T-Tops 5th gen? It can't be that bad, the 5th gen has a hatchback profile, now if it were on a steep rear windshield coupe like the C5 Z06, THAT would look ugly. Shoot, even if it did look ugly with t-tops I'd STILL buy one. I don't know about a 5.3L V8 though, but thats another thread.

And just for the record I would never buy a convertible, but theres always a crowd for it.

As far as I understood. GM was only going to make a soft top convertable.

So, since I have a preorder in for a 2010 SS 6-speed convertable in hugger orange and black. I guess it will be a soft top.

As cool as I think that ttops and targa tops are I agree with everybody who says that they wouldn't look right on the 5th gen. I think the car is just too big for them. Also for some reason, I HATE soft top convertables, don't know why but they get on my nerves. But I actually think that a hard top vert might be kinda cool. Chevy just needs to release the god damn prices and the rest of the specs already!!!

I have to stick with ttops...there's just something about the moonroof/topless feeling I can have with the ttops...I'll deal with the leaks...I love em. I have never had a girl complain about my T's either...my girl loves to roll with em off...

nobody knows what the 5th gen is going to look like with ttops. hell who knows they make just look completely killer, no one knows. my vote is for the ttops, i converted from hardtop to ttop. no weight diffrence! the chunk of metal u take out weighs just as much as a ttop itself.

T-Tops and I don't have a mullet, but I agree with previous posts about the envious looks from people who's rides did not even have that as an option.
Also my 97 30th Anniversary Edition was T-top as well. Just wish I could had transferred my 97 interior into my 02 Z28. Leather with real sheepskin covers ***.

T-tops are great. Dont care what they do in all honesty though. I will buy one regardless. The car looks great.
