I hope even a SOHC or DOHC doesnt go into the new camaro. I hate to spend 600( SOHC), and 1500(DOHC) on just the cams alone, not including upgrading the valvetrain. OHC engines is one of my reason I give up on stangs. GM has been good at putting a affordable, larger, powerful engine in their cars without swaying away from their competitions model's prices.

OHV OEM 2 valve heads flowing 325cfm peak in SUV'S and pu trucks
lightweight castings, physically smaller than any comparable 2v (ford)
that flow dramatically less, and even 4v heads, that still are nowhere near
the flow even with 4 valves.
easy to assemble, and manufacture,
just dont make sense to go with dohc or sohc heads,
unless they flow over 350-360+cfm with comparable intake port runners.

Don't be surprised if you see something as wild as a twin cam (not OHC) pushrod 24- or 32-valve setup. This would not be an LS-anything, but might still share a lot of the lower LSx internals.

I still don't think ford has recovered from developing its SOHC line of engines over pushrods. Picture a mustang with a 350 hp all aluminum pushrod 5.0 with an optional 430 HP 5.8 versus the current offerings. GM's LS line of engines is probably some of the most advanced engines in the world in terms of power, packaging, and reliability. I hope they don't veer into the realm of overhead cam engines.
