Default Transformers, GM, and the new Camaro

I saw Transformers recently and thought it was really good, but I wonder what effect it will have on the 09 Camaro. What's do you guys think?

The new Transformers movie has been very popular as you guys know, even after it had been out over a week, the showing I saw was still sold out.

-Do you guys think the new Camaro has achieved "Movie Star" status already and we could possibly see a rise in F-Body fans? When it first appeared, everyone in the audience went nuts.

-Do you think that GM is receiving money from the Transformers franchise that could future benefit the consumer? I hope so.

-Could there be alot of pressure on GM to make this an even better car because of it's popularity already? I hope this is true as well. I would hate to see the new Camaro be overhyped and then not meet everyone's expectations.

-Could a rise in popularity result in price gouging early in the release? I think this is a possibility.

-Could there be a future Saleen Camaro?

-Would we as longtime, avid, and serious F-Body fans want to see every Mustang on the road replaced with a Camaro? I wouldn't, I like driving a vehicle that isn't mainstream.

Just some ideas I've been having and wondered what you guys thought.

John

I have seen a lot of people crossing over from import only and mustang only and now wanting a Camaro since the movie.

I believe a lot of people now are like "wow that new camaro is bad, I gotta get me one of
those", which is great. The thing is by the time it comes out most of these casual fans will
probably already have another car or whatnot and won't be as interested as they are now.
My wish is for there to be enough supply and demand that there won't be serious price
gouging and everyone that wants one will be able to fit one of the trim levels in their budget, but not see one every other car you pass.

Everyone one says it was a long GM ad, but if you ask me a punk like starscream can smash that many GM products, I don't want one.

Transformer attacks are a main buying point for my cars.

Honestly, I think it'll be to long to really have any effect. I heard a 2nd is on the way, we'll see then about if it's near release time for the camaro.

Saleen will very likely start modifying GM cars. They already stated they are branching out from Ford.

FYI, Saleen built the Camaro's used in the movie.

Saleen has already stated that they WILL have their hands in the new Camaro once all the legal stuff is taken care of.

funny how the movie has brought out all the TF geeks

Bumblebee was awesome. Simply awesome. I am spending more money on TF toys than anything else right now. And I seriously LOVE the 09 Camaro. Never cared for Camaros before, and I am not into retro cars. But this one is great.

When I went and watched it the week it came out as soon as Bumblebee turned into the 09 camaro people clapped. I was surprised. I think transformers 2 will help sell the car.

Went and saw it again last night.

Still about 1/4 full theater, not bad for a mid week.

All you could hear during the tunnel sceen was "WOW THAT IS BAD @SS", "I HAVE TO GET ONE OF THOSE"

GM may have finally made a car that actually sells itself.

I have some reissues, and some originals. I even started making boxes for the originals I have.

Did anyone notice after the bridge scene encounter with S7 guys, when the autobots are leaving, as bumblebee is transforming, his wheels are spinning while he is still transforming before they even hit the ground, and continue spinning as he fishtails out and away? I think that was my favorite scene. Awesome.
