My brother was at NAIAS last year in Detroit debueting the new Promod and part of the reason they were invited was because the color of their car was the same as one of the new 5th Gens www.mulliganmotorsports.com anyway, I was was telling my brother over the weekend that I was contenplating trading my 2002 Z28 in on the new camaro once it becomes available and he told me to have my head checked because in real life the car is less than impressive. Now I have been following the development of that car for months now, mainly by means of posts and multimedia on this site. I was not able to attend the show last year. He has a 68 and i used to have a 69, and I realize the 5th gen mimics the 1st generation much like the new mustang does. I trust his judgement, and even he agrees that the pictures look great but the real deal is to "boxy and futuristic" like GM is trying too hard and following ford by jumping on the band wagon. Is it possible that the concept car they saw is different from what will be going into production. Now I know this is entirely a matter of opinion post but for those of you who are fortunate enough to see itin real life, would you concur or deny that the actual vehical is a let down. I know its almost like blasphemy to ask on here but im just curious.

I saw the silver one on the 2006 Power Tour every day for 8 days. We were able to get very close to it, be able to watch and listen to them move it each day on and off the car carrier.
It's nice, I'm just not 100% on it yet. I'd have to drive it to get a true feel for it. Then again, I still love the look of the 98-02 Trans AMs. The first time I saw them back in 1998 I loved them and still do. I've teatered on the fence many times about switching to a vette (c5 or c6) but still like the look of the Trans Ams over the vettes. It's just different.

I've seen the vert. 3 times. Once actually driving down the road.
I've seen the red model car, twice at the LA auto show last year.
I've seen the silver one once.
Still waiting for the production version.

I live right next to the GM Proving Groung in Milford, Mi. I keep trying to see the production version go by on the test-track, however they have stepped security up around there. I keep getting booted out of the area(Feel's like area 51). I have seen it with 19" in the front, 20" in the rear with a braw on the front & rear bumpers driving around town within the past 2 months. So, yes I have seen the "non-concept" version.
