Default Supercharged Camaro

http://jalopnik.com/337672/detroit-a...ful-ls9-engine

These ppl seem to think that the LS9 is only the beginning of the LSx with an SC. This would bode with what we read on ls1tech.com earlier.

If this be the case...

1. What type of SC LSx would the camaro possibly see?
A. Displacement of engine?
B. Size/type of SC?

2. And more importantly what would ppl on this site want on a SC LSx?
A. How much power?
B. How much modability and how would it be best configured for modability?
C. How much would one be willing to pay for it?

3. Considering any other SC LSx will be a downgraded variant of the LS9...what elements must be kept in the downgrade?

4. What would be desirable on this engine that I may have missed?

This is not meant to be a...I want 900 HP for 25k type thread...or a rant thread on how badassed a vehicle it will be (or a hater thread, or a troll magnet). I mean this as a gauge of public opinion on this possibility.

I personally would rather have a NA LS3...but I am probably odd-man out. Thanks!!!

Whatever downgraded version they come up with will be fine because everyone is going to go aftermarket soon after anyway. I'd like to see turbo but maybe that would take the fun out of it for the aftermarket crowd.

i heard they tried to make it difficult for you to mod the LS9, so they should make whatever supercharged v8 they put in the camaro very responsive to mods, like the 03/04 cobras... only way more power, only one cam, with a bigger engine.

Personally, I would have zero interest in a supercharged camaro. On the other hand, a supercharged Cacamaro would be fine.

1. What type of SC LSx would the camaro possibly see?
A. Displacement of engine?
6.2L should do it (as it is based on the LS3), but 6.0 would deff not be unwelcome.
B. Size/type of SC?
I'd like to see at least a 3 lobe eaton. Just like the GT versus the 03/04 it was a diff. supercharger geared toward saving $.

2. And more importantly what would ppl on this site want on a SC LSx?
A. How much power?
450-475hp unmodded would be cool. So ~400whp.
B. How much modability and how would it be best configured for modability?
A good deal of modability, at least 600-650hp without going into the block. I mean the LS1 can do 500-550 stock bottom-end.
C. How much would one be willing to pay for it?
I'd go as high as 38K. Maybe 42K if it's a limited run version.
3. Considering any other SC LSx will be a downgraded variant of the LS9...what elements must be kept in the downgrade?
The forged bottom-end would be the most desirable portion of the LS9.
4. What would be desirable on this engine that I may have missed?
Maybe oil cooled pistons for longer, road race type usage. Or even Variable Cam like the L92.

There are at least 3 different supercharged V8s coming out soon.

Details of all of them have already been posted.

I find it hard to believe that GM would make 3 SC engines...seems like a waste to me.

If they continue on with supercharging, I would hope that they go with a very high helix design; 10-15% higher efficiency vs. the lower twist designs.

Glad to see I'm not the only one that gets irritated when people call it a "camaro", as if that isn't the dumbest sounding thing I've ever heard. I'd be tempted to rather hear people call it a Camero. Both sound horrible.

Supercharged Camaro...I don't know how I'd feel about that. I guess I'd rather have FI than NA. Makes it way easier and cheaper to make fast. Plus, it's easier to make a more fuel efficient FI motor. You can keep the displacement and cam small and still make obscene power, but only with your foot in it. No boost = no extra fuel consumption. I wouldn't be surprised if the LS9 Corvette still avoids the gas guzzler tax.
