Whose going to actually pull the trigger. I am sure everyone of us will be out window shopping. I have a feeling that the Camaro will suffer the same fate as the GTO. A lot of people that wanted it couldnt afford it, and most of those that could afford it and were in the market passed it up. Im interested to see what GM's target demographic for the 5th gen will be. Maybe in 4-5 yrs when im tired of messing with my 98 ill find a used 2010-2011..... I think most us will be waiting for the smoke to clear and see how these cars will pan out.

If I had the $$$ then yes I would. But being in college right now I'm used to only making anywhere between 3-6k a year so on a budget like that no it ain't gonna happen
But when it comes out I'll be out of school and should *hopefully* have a real job. Depending on my expenses and income I may do it. We'll see.

I hope they don't screw it up. They marketed the GTO wrong and tried to go after the cheaper Mustang when the Vauxhall Monaro VXR was marketed towards the M3. Even if they had tried to do that here no one here would have considered a Pontiac when looking at a BMW.

wow 25k for an m6 ls3 none the less!!! in other threads youve said 29k and even then people kinda but I would say that a base model v8 m6 would run right around 26k or so and that would be more along the lines of a 5.3

The Goat was marketed towards the Bimmers and Mercs, not against the Stang.
Listen sure I will be able to afford a 35k camaro by then...but why in the **** would I waste that kinda extra money. Having a fast car is not my number one priority. My Z/28 or Mustang were not that expensive...but you get above 30 grand and that is some really expensive ****.

I continue to maintain that expecting an LS3 Camaro for $25k is 100% insane. I want the same car that you do (except for the trans, **** the M6.....it's A6 or nothing for me), but I would never expect to pay the same for an LS3 '10 Camaro as what my '02 Z28 was new ($25k).

It should have been, but that's not what happened. Not to mention I don't know anyone that would be looking at a BMW or Mercedes that would even consider a Pontiac. GM spent a lot of money marketing this car, but they didn't seem to know what they were marketing.

How is it wasting money? Where else would you be able to get an LS3 (assuming that's what they use) in a brand new car for any less than $35k? Used LS2 Corvettes with low miles are still selling above $35k.

Considering the pricing of the G8 and also the LS1/2 GTO's I also agree that the LS3's will be in the mid $30's with decent options. Maybe a base Z28 will be had for low $30's sticker. Anyway, this discussion is getting so old and people are expecting a LS3 Z28 for Civic Si/Cobalt SS money. You also cant compare new to used. That is like the "Why would I buy a LS3 vette new when I can buy a 95 Civic and do a 2.0 swap and spray it and run 11's?" There was always a point in time when you could buy a used Vette for new Camaro money(except 1953-1966).
I think the issue here is that time has passed too quickly for some people. Meaning, they tend to forget that nicely optioned Camaros were $25k with a Corvette V8 10 years ago. How anyone can expect that same pricing so many years later is beyond me. And forget about a stripper model, they don't sell well and there's no way GM is going to make a crank window, manual lock, manual seats, no CD player, etc. 5th gen car. The only options you'll see are stuff like Navi, audio upgrades, wheel upgrades, interior accents/upgrades (leather, etc.), etc. I think this thought of a $25k LS3 Camaro is stemming from the idea that stuff like a radio delete or no A/C option might exisit, but there is NO way that's going to happen. The days of factory performace cars being offered as bare-bones track ready monsters are over. Even when you could still order an LS1 Z28 totally stripped down, very few people did. It's just not in demand these days.

im going go ahead and say it. THERE WILL NOT BE A V8 UNDER 30K. A stripper GTO was 30k.... 3 YEARS AGO. Prices in cars do not go down, they go up with inflation. How much was a 67 camaro? 4 or 5 grand? Well **** I should be able to get a 2010 with a big block for 8k!!!

HAH! That's where you are off-base. GM has no ***** unless we are talking about a Corvette.
I'm not down with the styling on the new Camaro so it would totally come down to price vs features. I deal in reality though...and know it will be beyond what I am willing to pay. Sooo.....not buying.
