A message from Scott on the Camaro
Many quotes -- and more misquotes in the past week.
Do not take everything you hear as gospel......some quotes were taken out of context -- others had numbers and such wrong.
Premium.....the V8 Camaro will not be $37,000 -- if it were, it would bomb.
It will be affordable and it will be in Mustang territory. "Premium" could mean a few hundred dollars......
We think you're going to be pleasantly surprised at horsepower and torque numbers -- fuel economy - and standard equipment -- (Or -- Good ole fashioned 'bang for the buck' ...) This car is going to have some details that 'surprise and delight' -- ......
You've heard me say this before and I'll say it again......there is a lot riding on this new Camaro -- and some of the best in the industry are working on it.......
Have I lied to you yet??????
Now-- go forth with your enthusiasm -- (but when you hear some high pricetag put on the car -- don't believe it -- the LAST thing we'll do is price it.........)
(by the way -- the "!2 disciples of which there are 15" will be coming to Detroit in May -- and they may have some impressions for you once they return home.) (.......that is, if we can get them to stop grinning wildly....)

Some good info, pretty much says dont listen to anything you read from MotorTrend or some site like that since they pretty don't know anything.

i get a little feeling of relief everytime i read something like that. it's easy to get caught up in the hype and internet rumors and whatnot.
it's also fun to tell car salesmen that they don't know sh*t especially when they describe the LS2-powered prototypes as "production" models.

GM has people looking into pricing and options as we speak. They aren't going to half *** it this time.
GM can't afford to launch a brand new car that sucks. GM and Ford are working very hard to get their image back. If you haven't noticed, consumer reports are loving the G8, '08 CTS, '08 Malibu, LS3 Vette. GM isn't going to mess up a car they've already invested millions in.
Think about it, R&D, design, concepts, prototypes, sponsoring transformers, retooling the Oshawa assembly plant... GM isn't going to mess this up

If the new Camaro sucks for some reason (lets hope not), I'm just planning to get a slightly used LS3 Vette. Maybe even the LS2 so long as it's a good deal with super low miles.
I'll still have two Camaros, so I won't be abandoning the F-body.
