We certainly appreciate your comments and we will document your concerns so that they may have an impact on future models. However, at this time we do not have official specifications on the engines going to be released on the Camaro. Customers will be able to choose from a V6 or V8 engine and a manual or automatic transmission, but we do not have the estimated horsepower for those engines available yet.

Again, we appreciate your feedback. We recommend that you stay in contact with us and your preferred Chevrolet dealership for updates. Did you expect an answer other than that?? They're not gonna spill the beans yet. Maybe they're still deciding between WHICH V8 to put in, so they really dont have an answer for you. Looks like this time, we wont know until they WANT us to know.

-good initiative.

meh if I decide to get a nice car with good power and good gas mileage I'll get a sky redline. An overweight v6 doesn't sound too appealing imho...

I just wish they would give a concrete date on when more details would be released. I am sure most of them are already figured out

This is what the new Camaro will START out with:

V6 Engine

Base V8 Engine

Hi Performance V8 Engine

The G8 and Camaro WILL be built in the same factory and they share a very similar platform.

That is probably the closest prediction yet, but I'd rather see the performance > 450 hp.

We'll see!

The coolest thing about the new Camaro is. Upon performing the FIRST modification to the car a signal is sent to directly to GM. GM sends YOU, the customer, a letter terminating the whole warranty. Enjoy the ride boys!

Not if they plan on selling more than three units. That wouldn't be a very business-wise decision on their part.

If you take the time to read the owners manual. That doesn't sound good. How about this? The owners manaual say you shouldn't modify or race your car. The truth is insurance companies and dealers can unload date stored in your car about how it's driven. Is it legal? Well normally you have a loan on the car. You're required to carry full coverage. If you total the car why shouldn't you insurance company onload the cars stored data? Gm will cover your powertrain for 5 yr or 100K + 3 years 36K. If you abuse the car you don't own why should they unload the date stored in the car that has a warranty?

p.s. Matt - I thought you migh enjoy a picture the GOOD runt dog - Jake. Remember you were going to snap their necks. Only two dogs now. Was required to eliminate one of the big dogs.

Being a Holden car, the G8 is built in Australia, are there plans to move G8 production to Canada?? The Camaro will be built in Canada, so I dont see the G8 and Camaro being built in the same factory, although they are both Zeta platform cars, right?

except that they did it with the LS1. Camaro and firebird had them...anyway the car will be heavier, so it'll be slower with the same engine.

Dude I don't know wtf your on, but you need to lay off of it. Your sentences are horribly composed and I really don't get what your trying to explain? I know there are boxes in your car to help insurance companies determine how an accident was caused, but that has DICK to do with modifying your car and eliminating a warranty. Insurance companies don't determine if you have a warranty or not.

Moreover, what the hell does snapping runt dogs necks have to do with the 2010 Camaro? Keep the conversation to the topic please, take your Dogs to PM.

ive heard 6.0 for the base V8

they should revive the LS2 for it. was it not a great engine? does GM not still have the tooling and ability to put it back into full production again?

Then again, putting the LS1 in the Camaro made that engine last a lot longer. 8 years?

I don't know what I've getting at but I'm sure its something.

And "black boxs" determine if something failed. There isn't excessive wire running through the car to everything just to see if something was changed for aftermarket, that would be absurd and add a bitchload of weight.
