Default Better be 'light' looking

I sure hope the Camaro is better looking than the new Challenger. I saw my first one in person yesterday at a local car show and I saw a 'heavy' looking car. I mean weight. It looks horribly heavy in my opinion compared to the 70's versions and I could compare very easily at the show since there was a '70 Cuda displayed. I sure hope the Camaro doesn't have that heavy appearance look to it. Concepts and pictures just don't represent the car until you see one in person. I'm sure the Challenger is a fine car but I personally hope the Camaro can blow it away in looks and performance. It better or owners will much prefer to keep their 4th generation cars. Spending up to $40k for a tank? No way!

Considering the Camaro is made out of the G8 which weighs 4,100lbs, don't hold your breath.

The G8 does not weigh 4,100, the challenger does...the G8 was like 3800 something and that's a sedan car.

Incorrect. The G8 Gt weighs @ 4000-4100lbs. You must be thinking of the V6 model. It will be interesting to see if the same people who call the GTO a pig will say the same about the new camaro.

Ok , place your bets ! Put your money where your mouth is .
Will the new Camaro's curb weight with an independant rear suspension & axle set-up come in under 4000 lbs ?
Or , will it as it appears , like the Challenger , be over 4100 lbs ?

I would guess 3800lbs. Basically a two door version of the G8 GT.

Incorrect, look it up....the G8 Gt is 3,995lbs. So were both close lets just leave it at around 4,000lbs....still lighter then the Challenger.

Base G8 is 3885, G8 GT is 3995.

Doesn't mean much for Camaro, as the chassis - while very similar - are definitely different.
G8 = Zeta, Camaro = ZetaII.

And also the obvious, 2 doors versus 4 doors.

So I was 5 pounds off the base weight and correct with full weight w/ driver lol. I wouldn't call that incorrect. 3800 is incorrect.

it's going to look heavy regardless because people like big cars and the camaro wont have tiny bucket seats in the back anymore
