I'd like to see more throwback colors like purple and green. It's also dying for stripes like the convertible concept had.

If that is the only V8 and it is supposed to be priced near a Mustang GT...then I expect a 26k LS3 M@RO.
The MPG on this thing is not going to motivate me to pay 29k. I will pay 26k tops or I will be buying something else.
The fuel economy is ridiculous!!! I like my old Z/28 better. 30 MPG and it is plenty quick.

wrong. LT was used during the mid 70s on Camaros too. http://www.nastyz28.com/camaro/camaro76.php
Am I really seeing someone complain about mpg on a 400+ HP V8 RWD sportscar? Geez, we have a LOT of Honda transplants here. If fuel economy is your main concern, THIS IS NOT THE RIGHT FORUM FOR YOU.

Look at the accessories, they have rally stripes and hockey stripes, in addition to exhaust systems and CAI's. THey also mentioned the usual GMPP go fast parts....
Good job GM!!! Finally we can say that, took long enough.

I am complaining about it, unless it is bargain basement cheap. The combination or MPG, weight, and acceleration is nothing to write home about. I will be buying a used C6. Glad I waited for this M@RO though...now there are used LS3 C6's

WECIV, how is the mpg weight or performance bad?. Its rated at 23 mpg under the new 2008 standards. did u know our ls1's are only rated at 23 mpg under the new standards and we all know they can do better(www.fueleconomy.gov). So the 2010 camaro gets the same milage as our cars..with 100 more hp and is still lighter then the challenger and gt500 (4140 lbs, and 3920 lbs respectively) And makes just as much horsepower as the challenger..thats 300 lbs more. What more can you honestly expect....given new safty standards and such, this car is better than the competition and thats the point isnt it? This is honesly what i expected and cannot wait to buy one

Actually looking at fueleconomy.gov the old 4th gens were only 25mpg. So we lose 2mpg and get a 400hp LS3 powered car that I'm sure will outperform the old in every way and be nice on the inside...
Assuming you drive 13k miles a year, that's only 45 gallons less over an entire year...that's like 200-250 bucks. Hardly something to get worried about.

I agree,stop the whining this is LS1tech not the ricer forum...
The new Camaro is BAD AZZ,I love it..I wouldve liked some of the 1969 Colors too but the new Yellow,Orange and Blues look pretty good as does the Red tint coat....
I am sure by the 2nd year we will see houndstooth interior,stripe options galore..I dont know if I'll be able to afford a Z/28 but the SS sure looks nice and the price it right to boot at about 30K...
Hmmmm?
2011 Camaro SS 6sp
Black/White Stripes with houndstooth interior

One of the cars I did that with I just sold with over 300,000 original miles on it. No issues whatsoever with the engine.
If you observe that type of oil change schedule the cost is virtually nothing.

The Camaro has a six-speed transmission standard, independent rear suspension, 122 more HP, bigger wheels (20" vs 17"), bigger tires (245 vs 235), bigger Brembo rotors (14"+ vs 12"), bigger calipers (4 piston vs 2 piston) and a bigger fuel tank (16 vs 19 gallon). All of that stuff adds weight but also enhances performance and drivability.
Guess what happens when you add all that to the Mustang? It also becomes heavier, the king of Mustangs the GT500 is a sneeze away from 4,000lbs. And it costs substantially more than the SS. The Mustang GT Premium has amenities similar to the Camaro, it's base price is higher than the standard GT and it's still nowhere near as nice a car.
The Camaro also uses a brand new, world-class platform and structure. The Mustang's D2C platform is ancient and based on a platform that dates back to the 2000 Lincoln LS.
Look at some other cars in the Camaro SS price range too.
EVO X MR = 3600lbs - 291hp
G37 = 3700lbs - 330hp/270lb-ft
M3 = 3700lbs - 414hp/295lb-ft
335i = 3600lbs - 300hp/300lb-ft
Genesis = 3550lbs - ~300hp
Mustang Bullitt = 3600lbs - 315hp/325lb-ft
The higher horsepower cars don't do much better than the SS on the freeway, but when's the last time you honestly averaged 27mpg per tank in your old car? If you live in or near a city you probably get mid to mid-high teens per tank.
