This doesn't speak to well for the camaro either being 3900lb's with around the same power...but like I said before who keeps their car stock in this hobby anyway ;-)
How wonder how well these cars respond to spray...and how much traction their drivetrain can handle with the right set of tire's...

Pay attention. This is about the R/T, not SRT.

It might have been good 15 years ago but today, it's not good for a car like that. I don't see how you can seriously compare this car to one that was introduced 16 years ago when everything was slow compared to todays performance cars. At least compare it to a GTO or anything other than an LT1.

That is pretty dissapointing considering my Imp SS is listed at 5.6 and 14.2 and only has 303hp vs. 370-375. I still think they're cool though and as mentioned people won't keep them stock.

I was simply stating a point. And a 14 sec car will outrun 85% of the cars on the road today if not more...

I think the main point here is that the camaro will LIKELY run atleast a 13.0 while its competition runs a 14.0. That is assuming that the base SS price is close to 30k being that the R/T base price is 30K. If the camaro base price is closer to 35K or 40K then it is more fair to compare to the SRT8. Which is actully a much closer match as far as performance. Regardless i think 14.0 is dissappointing considering it costs 5k more then a base mustang gt that can run 13.5-13.8

well the ls1 made its first showing in an f-body in 1998, and ls1 f-bodies ran 13's all day. and here it is 2008 and they still haven't caught up, or either just now catching up. pretty bad if you ask me.

Now IMO as for the 14.0 challenger, I'm sure its faster then that in stock trim with a good driver, look at the 300s running 13.0s with next to nothing, that shocked me, i didn't know those cars ran that good, they are claiming low-mid 13s on the new challenger in there testing. we shall see once they start hitting the track.
