Default challenger r/t 0-60 and 1/4 mile times

http://www.dodgechallenger.com/forums/m_47638/tm.htm

saw this posted at the challenger forum. Dont know how official they are as i couldnt watch the video.

5.5 sec 0-60
14.0 sec 1/4 mile

This might be good for the camaro as the v6 will probably keep up with it, but kinda disappointing that this is their affordable muscle car...and thats just too slow. I was hoping it would atleast be 13.5 in the 1/4

thought this is relevant to camaro discussion but if not feel free to move to the lounge

14.0 in the 1/4 mile is pretty slow.

Maybe I can run one in my LT1 and make the person driving it really feel bad. Still haven't seen one out here though.

This doesn't speak to well for the camaro either being 3900lb's with around the same power...but like I said before who keeps their car stock in this hobby anyway ;-)

How wonder how well these cars respond to spray...and how much traction their drivetrain can handle with the right set of tire's...

Slow, no. Slow compared to most of us, yes.

A 14 sec 1/4 mile actually is pretty good. A stock LT1 only ran mid 14's.

OMG NO WAI DUDEZ, ALL lt1's ran 13.8'S!!!!!1

On a serious note, 14.0 is pretty disappointing. I'm sure with just a bit more effort on chrystler's behalf, it could still remain affordable and run at least high 13's.

I can't wait to get on the dork at my work who is a total "mopar" fanboy. Anything mopar is the greatest thing ever and anything by anyone else sucks. Funny coming from a guy who drives a neon. If those numbers are accurate, that car's a joke.

Many of you always want an advantage. You won't race anything you don't think you can beat.

None of you can walk that fast in the 1/4.

" " run " ".

" " swim " "

" " ride a horse " "

" " ride a bike " "

But because any car only goes 14 in the 1/4 you think it's slow.

Look at it this way. You're a better driver than those testing the new Charger ie you will do better. The new Charger you think will run 14's blows your doors off when you race. Gosh, if a person can buy one how damn long do you think it will take to make it faster?

The R/T Challenger should run right about what the R/T Chargers have been running......maybe a couple of tenths quicker given the slight bump in HP. I agree its not exactly keeping up with the Jones' as far as competing with the upcoming Mustang GT or Camaro SS...but that's probably not gonna be a very big factor to the ppl looking to buy one of these. Many will buy it for the looks and cool factor, and a select percentage will do what it takes to make them faster.....as car guys always have.

why is this in the 2010 camaro section?

oh, LOL at this
I totally agree. If the vehicle does 350HP or more and gives me 17 MPG or better I am a totally happy speed monster.
How about 400HP and mid-20's MPG? I think that is much better.

14.0 isnt that bad. The MSRP is 30,000. IMO, the car looks badass & will sell good at 30!

so you think that the 14.0 is the car ran to its absolute potential and they will get no better? I guess the new camaro will never do better than a 13.4 either and the 4th gens are all supposed to run 13.8's (a lot of mags had them there to start)

not to mention after break in a car will usually pick up at least a tenth.

get off my nuts son...why r u talking trash to me anyway...if you disagree you can do it with some class.

what the hell is it with people on this board these days?

or are you talking about the link to the thread? if so you can forget my little rant and I apologize
