You also have to remember that the new Camaro is getting some pretty beefy brakes. This does put a limit on how small a rim you can put on the car. My car came with 17's, but if I wanted to go smaller I would have to find a customized rim.............or go with smaller rotors/calipers. So its not all about aesthetics with GMs wheel size options. When you're talking about 12+ inch rotors for the sixxer, and 14+ inch rotors for the SS (with Brembo calipers), putting on a smaller rim size becomes a logistical issue.

Are you tolkin to me?

No, I won't be putting my name down for a 5th gen. I can't afford any new cars right now.....and especially not an SS (sorry, I won't be caught dead buying a V6 ponycar ever again). But both my sister and a cousin of mine are definitely considering one, so I've been keeping up to date on all the latest info for them. So I'm sure there will be a 5th gen in the family in the not too distant future. Personally, I'm looking forward to it.

Now if I can juuust talk my brother into buying that SRT8 Challenger he's been eyeballing, we should have some interesting car meets at my mom's when we have Sunday dinner. (2 newer Mustangs, 2 new Camaros, a C6 Vette, and a Challenger )

If you voted 15-17 you are one of these:

1. Completely tasteless
2. Racist, you assoiate big wheels with black people
3. The guy who just cut the mullet off in 2005.

SERIOUSLY PEOPLE ITS 2008, 15" wheels? 16" wheels? ARE YOU SERIOUS?

Rims are getting too big. Not sure how the new Camaro would look with a set of regular sized 15-17 inch rims but prolly not as gay as 20 inch rims

Don't forget that the tire height is over 2 inches taller than a 4th Gen.
So with 18" wheels on a 5th Gen, you have the same amount of tire sidewall as 16" wheels on a 4th Gen.

So 15" wheels on a 5th Gen would look like 13" wheels on a 4th Gen... in other words, kinda stupid.

Not to mention, good luck finding a 15, 16, or 17-inch wheel that will clear the 14.2" brakes.

yea but there's got to be some 16's or 17's that look good on it. To 18's and up are just rediculous. And yes...loaded98Z28...I have a mullet but not racist and I'm older(28)...jk about the mullet

The new tire is almost 3 inches taller. An 18 will have some pretty good sidewall. A 17 would even be better, but noone makes a tire that is tall enough. These tires are also real expensive.

The 20's look great on the car. Every one who says they wouldn't buy the car because of the wheels never had any intention to buy it any ways. If you think a 15-17" wheels would look good on this car then have fun with your Skynrd tapes and cut off jorts. Maybe oakley blades will come back in style too.
