Damn.... GM definitely finally gave us what we wanted.
But, they claimed this car was a better road course performer than the 1LE but I'm not seeing it with those lateral G and braking numbers. If anything the lap times may be marginally quicker due solely to more power to use in the straights on some courses. Also not digging that fact that they stayed with 20" wheels.
But 12.3 at 116 is awesome. 3685lbs is awesome. This car is going to hurt major 5.bro feelings. Looking forward to seeing Ford counter back.

Sucks for you.
To be clear its 37,295 I think with destination.
You can always have a mustang gt with 235s and no brakes or cooling and a half second slower for 33k with destination. Get mistaken for a fusion at the same time and be slower than the last gen car
I'll happily spend the extra 4k. You get what u pay for.

LT1 + 8speed auto = nasty
I almost bought a 2015 C7 Z51 for that reason but my cheapness couldn't pass on paying less than half for a 2012 with 20K miles still under warranty.

It doesn't really suck for me. I'm quite content with my GTO, and GM has yet to build a car that makes me want to replace it.
Yes, $37,295 with cloth seats. What a sweet deal.
I could get a Mustang GT. They are very nice cars, but I'm not blinded with Camaro fanboi-itis and can actually see that. I also prefer the looks of the Mustang over the Camaro, and have yet to confuse one for a Fusion.
I also test drove a new GT, and it stopped and handled just fine. Then again, I drove it with realistic expectations of driving it on the street and hold no illusion of thinking I'm in a muhfuggin racecar.

I passed on the 5th gen due to the weight.......don't think I will be able to do the same this time around.
I always wanted an LS7 car though and the 5th Gen Z/28 tempted me pretty hard.....the question is, what will the 6th gen Z/28 have? Hopefully just a DI'd LS7 with 550-600hp as I prefer NA power. I almost want to pick up one of the last 2015 Z/28s but the 6th gen announcement has me excited for what the "special editions" will be capable of (the SS just wouldn't be enough).

Your point is moot.

Impressive numbers, especially for the auto. Weight is also impressive, nice to see the trend towards ~4,000lbs starting to wane.
It's just too bad that the car doesn't look better. Camaro has been trailing Mustang in the styling department ever since the 2010 re-introduction IMO.
