i was looking at the 5th gen zl1, changed my mind.
i was looking at 5th gen zl1s, but i think i am gonna go with the 6th gen zl1.
what bolt on mods to go with 1st, headers & catback, pulley change and air box with a tune....
about what will this car pick up in horsepower & torque?
i am a manual guy but i am thinking auto, i am getting old and my left knee is about due for number 4 surgery.
thanks moe

IMO the best mod for a GEN6 ZL1 having never owned one (I did have a GEN6 1SS 1LE which is basically a ZL1 with a SS engine and transmission and front facia) is to get rid of that weak *** blower GM gave it from the factory and go to a twin screw or TVS2300/TVS2650 based blower. At least if you're looking to compete with the power potential of the Hellfats and GT500. (Both 13/14 and 2020+ GT500's) Otherwise like every other GEN3+ SBC they respond well to H/C and induction mods, L/T's and cat deletes yield power, also E85 works great in the high compression GEN5 engines particularly boosted ones.
The 10L90 in the GEN6 ZL1 is excellent, and better than the 10L80 in the SS and new trucks. Also the Alpha platform Camaros are chassis cars. Kind of like Miata's, S2000's, and RX7's, M3's, etc are chassis cars. They are excellent from a performance standpoint. Their limits are so high that they can be a little boring on the street.

i ended up buying my 1st love.....my very first car i bought, it was a blue with black vinyl top 1969 chevelle SS 396 M4 BACK IN 76.
i bought a monocho orange chevelle (hugger orange) with black vinyl top, bucket seat 1969 ss 396 l78 M4 12 bolt. its got 92000 miles on it.
it is basically 99% stock, but rear shocks & radio.
it cost me about the same price as a new zl1..... it is beautiful!

FLEX FUEL is a must
Transmission tune is a must
Rotofab intake
Long tube headers
Pulley down
there's a new lid upgrade for the blower that seems promising
Basic bolt ons and tuning probably $5-$6k
Upgrading the blower is expensive and you will have to upgrade fuel system to take advantage
($12k in parts alone)
