Default Need help hydrolock

First Camaro I’ve ever owned took it over after a buddy of mine put it in a 2ft puddle and car shut off car has been sitting for about 2 months maybe a bit more finally brought it home after he failed to fix it, I tried turning the crank manually won’t budge. Is this it? Anyway to free it up or am I going to need a new motor?

Did you pull the plugs and intake manifold and drain the pan? Id put diesel and atf fluid in the spark plug holes and let it soak for 12-24 then turn is by hand. If that works then drain all that out and put cheap oil with 1 quart of atf in the oil fill cap and spin over the engine with the key, still dont put plugs. If this now spins over freely then drain that out, reassemble everything and put some hot plugs and wires with a quality oil. Id also drain the fuel system and change the fuel filter then try and start. Injectors may need to be sent off, depending if it ran under water and got into the fuel system.

sitting 2 months i would think it would free up, me and a buddy had one that sat for over 2 years and we got it to turn. I wouldn't buy a motor if it doesnt free, id go through it and put some decent parts in it.

You sure its only hydrolocked? Sounds like there is more to the story then your being told. Did you put a breaker bar on the crank bolt and try and spin both directions with all the spark plugs pulled?

that’s what I’m trying to figure out I know for sure it went in at least 2ft a water and the car shutoff, and it got pulled to a a garage when I got the car last week only passenger side valve cover and intake have been removed including spark plugs yesterday I removed Al rocker arms and push rods none bent as far as I can see I will show a pic here soon I put a socket to crank bolt I can’t turn it I’m going to buy the correct size here shortly cause I was afraid it would slip and strip since it was a little loose fitting

I know the one we freed up that had been sitting for 2 years was not easy, we had to put quite a bit of pressure to it for it to let go. Do you have access to a bore scope where you can look down into the spark plug hole.

Id probably pull the heads and ive never pulled a pan on a 2017 camaro so I dont know what it takes to do that but if possible id pull the pan and see if you can get a look at the bearings from the bottom end. If you cant get it to free up then more then likely you going to have to tear it down and r we build it, id tear it down first to see whats salvageable and then buy as needed to repair.

Get a boroscope from Harbor Freight and stick it in the spark plug holes.

Yeh it can be tough to free up, you can either keep doing it and try and go back and forth the other way and see if it eventually frees up or vore scope it. Did you drain the pan to get everything out of it?
also you can perhaps pull the intake manifold and valley plate and try and poor the mix down into motor itself through the holes where you would see the cam. You may have bearings that are rusting as well.

pull the intake and valley plate so you can put an eye on the cam bearings and id put a little into the motor itself then. You may have bearings rusting as well.
