yes they are all over, most of them are over 100,000 miles and will probably will have a few things wrong with them, but every once in awhile you'll find a good deal.

id rather save all the work and just sell my car for 3 and put another 3k in cash and buy an ls1 with 6 spd.

If i swapped an ls1 into my car id have to buy the k member and gas tank and whatever else is needed. plus the wire harness would need to be wired the entire length of the car.

i would not swap an ls1 into a 4th gen, too much work for something you can buy already done by chevy.

i would, however, swap an ls1 into anything old school

swapping a ls1 into a 4th gen is more pain than its worth...and might not even be cost effective, I've seen z28s as low as $6-7k

That's a little over half the cost of a ls1/4l60e pullout generally...

I got the car in my sig for $4000 with all the mods, but then again half the front was torn off. I put about $1500 into it, so I'm just under your $6k. It's got 120k miles, but the car is actually in very good shape. There are some deals, just gotta be at the right place at the right time.

at the beginning of the summer when i started shopping i wanted a ws6 but knew it was going to be expensive so i was looking for a stock, base Z28. even in cali, which for some reason is usually overpriced, i found a lot of z28s for 6-8k.

and as they say, an ls1 is an ls1 is an ls1. so z28/ws6, its all the same. just ws6s are way sexier.

I brought a 2000 Formula m6 from a chevy dealer a year ago for $4200. All it needed was a new tensioner pulley and a new Battery
