Default Driving an M6 F-Body in the rain...

Is probably the hardest thing I've ever had to do. Seriously, I've done it like 4-5 times now and it just doesn't get any easier.

Any body have any recommendations other than "don't drive in the rain" or "don't smash the pedal"?

I mean honestly, don't mash the pedal. That is the best advice you can get, and you already realize it, lol.

Maybe some more rain friendly tires? There isn't a whole lot you can do except be gentle on the throttle when you're packing 300rwhp in the rain.

I never understand what people mean when they say our cars are "hard" to drive in the rain. I think they are just as easy as any other car, as long as you drive reasonably...?

I agree with this statement, sensible driving is the most important thing, I don't need to go on blah blah blah but understanding how your car reacts to different conditions is a big factor in being able to handle whatever the weather is and staying within the limits of your car and what your comfortable with.

Yea, I daily drive my Z in Chicago winters and it's a blast with no worries...Just don't be an idiot and you'll be perfectly safe/fine. I worry more about other people hitting me in the winter/rain/etc. than I worry about myself getting into an accident.

I've only ever driving FWD and AWD cars in the rain, so, not much experience there

Haha, my tires are so bald that when the road is wet I can get them to spin from a 55mph roll.

I personally dont have any problems driving my T/A in the rain. If you really are having that much trouble, try starting off in second gear from stops, and keep it under 2500 rpms max. Thats where the bulk of the torque curve sneaks in and it just gets easier and easier to lose control if your not paying attention.

I agree as well. I've done it 4 times in the last 10 days. (North carolina for you I guess) And its no problem especially with my bosch icon wipers rain stands no chance

rain = easy, its your tires, if your tires get rock hard in the cooler weather, then usually when it rains, it gets that much harder to drive. If you have decent tires, launching and driving like anyone else should be easy. It's when you want to go past 1/3 throttle that you kinda break loose easily.

well seat time is what you need. drive the car, get experience. they arent the most rain friendly vehicles but pedal control is a big factor.

make sure you have good tires...i had bald tires when i first got my car and it was very hard to drive it in the rain. I got some new tires and it was like night and day...also you dont need all season tires to do well in the rain, many summer performance tires actually do just as good if not better in the rain. Also if you think driving your f-body in the rain is hard wait until you have to drive it in the snow

I find my car pretty easy to drive in the rain, granted it's pretty much stock, but the three and a half feet of gas pedal throw make it easy to baby it.
