Default Low end power is gone

With my long tube headers my car just seems like it has no ***** at low rpm's. I know the long tube headers cause that and what not. But the only i way i can explain it is that it feels like a turbo. It seems like it is taking awhile to spool up. Anything I can do? I am working on a 9 inch so im holding off on the gears.

What are the size of your header primary's? Ive seen some get 1 7/8 headers on a bolt on car and it just kills low end because its too big.

You didn't really lose any low end power it just that long tubes give most of there gains in the upper RPMs giving the fealling that you don't have any low end grunt.

Im going to have to disagree. I thought it was that at first but i told myself. Ill give it some time and see if the pcm gets acclamated over time. It didnt so i got it tuned. And it made it better thats for sure but it still feels like it has no *****. I wasnt sure if maybe changing shift points or something. Maybe something a tuner could do to make it get out the gate just alittle better

It's not your headers. Headers pick up power everywhere. How is a better flowing exhaust gonna cost you anything. It won't.

Do you have cats and the rear o2's tuned out?

did you get a tune afterwards? That's probably your problem. 1 3/4, you should not lose any low end.

Take it to the track and see what happens. My car has run pig rich since my header swap, but I dropped 3 tenths from stock. After a tune it's definitely got some solid 12s in it.

You can't "tune out the cats" you tune out the rear o2's that tells the PCM whether the cats are functioning properly. I was hinting earlier you may have a stopped up cat if you still have them.

he no longer has cats, what you feel has been brought up many times and i guess there really in no answer for it...like i said up there i felt it too but got used to it even untuned it just seems like the nature of the car changes and it takes time to become accustomed to it...

Agreed.

My car picked up noticeable power everywhere with the long tubes. The low end torque was a night and day difference, felt like a different engine.

Something else is wrong if your car has no low end torque, LT headers add power and torque everywhere in the RPM range from idle on up.

Have you changed anything on the intake side of the motor?? Vacuum leak somewhere maybe??

Are you sure ur not maybe missing a spark plug wire..lol I thought I lost low end power after my headers to. I found out a week later that I forgot to put spark plug wire on plug #8 LOL. After that it was fricken great. I don't know why some ppl seem to loose low end or what but I felt like I had gains ALL around the rpm range.
