Default is it worth getting a lid??

I have an SLP SS Limited Edition Camaro.

I was just curious if its even worth, getting a new lid??? I mean the car has a better lid then those smaller stock ones on say the Z28 model's but its still the stock lid.

Yea, its worth it for 2 reasons.....

1.) It'll free up a few hp. And I mean just a FEW.
2.) Looks way cleaner than the stock crap!!

...If your worried about loosing something unique by tossing it aside for a better quality piece then order an SLP lid to retain the "it was made by SLP" standard.

A lid is a sick mod. My personal favorite at $100.

does your lid say slp on it, some ss cars have a slp lid from factory, doesn't quite flow like an aftermarket, but its close enough to keep the one you have

Keep the Blackwing. It is one of the best lids.

For sure keep the blackwing. Last I saw they were selling for 3 times what an aftermarket lid goes for.

I will say again, ...CLEANER LOOKING! ... just buy the aftermarket one and throw it in a closet for a rainy day.

Couple pics of the lid, pics are with shitty camera phone and crappy lightning in the shop i work at.

SLP logo

Blackwing Logo

Pic came out weird at the top, but you see how it's raised over the flatter stock lids.

If i do get another lid, it will be an SLP lid but just curious if it would even be worth it. Seeing how this lid is raised some.

The last blackwing lid that I saw sold on here was for $375 plus shipping. They are HEAVILY wanted by guys and they will pay the premium.

What makes the Blackwing lids so desireable? As far as I can see, it's just a normal lid....

Why would you wanna buy ANOTHER SLP lid? Its not gonna make any more hp than the one you got. You got one of the best lids made for our cars.

Black wings are the Available OEM quality upgrade for SS's in `02 that put them at the 345HP rating. BTW they were also standard on `02 Firehawks.

Definitely keep the Blackwing lid. That's an SLP option that came on some SS cars. It's just as good as any other aftermarket lid.

Does anyone have a pic of the inner side of the blackwing lid? I'm wondering if it has baffling like the other stock lids and it does what the difference in it might be.

Yup, that lid will deffenetly give an extra 30 Horse. . . . .right.

What ever, if that's what you have, keep it. It's pretty much like the after market ones, just fits better.

I would never buy a lid for over 80 Bucks or so. . . 375 < WTF are they smoking?

A MUST mod if you plan on headers, IM, cam & heads or any of these really. If you leave it stock you won't really feel it SOTP but it helps the other mods reach their potential.

People that pay the cash for it want the OEM lid. OEM fit is still far better then the best aftermarket fitting lid.
