Default $2500 what should i get for the TA?

I will be getting around $2500 from my taxes this year and wondering what mods you think i should buy with it. The 98 A4 TA is stock except for the VIG 3600 I will be installing around christmas. And hoping to have headers and an ls6 intake befor taxes. I cant make up my mind on what to do and its driving me CRAZY! I want a H/C but dont want my tranny or rear to go out befor i can save money to buy a built 4l60E and 12 bolt. I can only save about $400 a month. So it would be quite a few months befor i could save enough to get the tranny and 12 bolt, maybee even not till next tax season, lol. Would the tranny and rear last that long?

These will be the mods i should already have:
3600 Stall
Pacesetter LT
ls6 intake

$2500 to spend

So if you were in my position what would you buy??

If you like going to the track, invest in a rear end. It's hard to put H/C power to it's potential without a rear end at the track.

think a rear is a good idea to that way when i get my HC my car is ready for it. i think the VIG 3600 stall will have its way with the 10 bolt without a H/C anyway.

I would go w/H/C and just change your rear end to 3:42's w/ a rear support cover and worry about it if it blows up.

Auto's don't blow rear's that easy and like you said your's is not that old.I would just put a stud support rear cover on it and do the H/C set up instead of spending all your money on a rear end.

well if you did the rear you could do gears and that would make the car faster. i say H/C just because it would be fun and as long as you dont beat on it everything should hold up.

Being an A4 you have better chances of the stock rear end lasting longer with H/C but with that stall not so sure. I'd go rear end then tranny and next year h/c. Better safe than sorry.

what all suspension do you have?

I would get a rear end with 3.73's and if you have any left over get some suspension mods.

Like others said before, on an A4 the tranny will most likely go before the rear. If you are going to be doing H/C someday, might as well get the tranny now.

Do H/C. Stock rear & tranny here H/C car here. Just don't beat on it everyday and upgrade when you can.

If I'm reading your sig right, then your car is currently stock.

I wouldn't feel right putting almost 3k into my car and not having it go any faster.

Upgrade the Intake and get a Full Exhaust Setup. Thats about $2,500 if you buy top notch parts.

Buying a rear is a good idea, but you're going to beat on that rear until you save enough coin to buy some speed mods.

Do intake/exhaust and that will give you some SOTP/Eardrum satisfaction, and your rear and tranny should be able to handle it if you're not a senseless driver.
