lsx is a term meaning LS series motor. LS-1, LS-2, LS-6 etc. the X is where you insert the number of the specific block you have but they are all related so LSX mean any in that family of motors.

But the LSx series also includes more engines than just the LS1/2/3/6/7 there is also the truck engines LQ9 and LQ4, LM7, "4th gen" L99, L76, L98, L99, LS4, LS9, the Cadillac LSA and there's probably more that I am not thinking of.

I do not consider anything but the cars LS series motors. I believe the others are because most of the parts are direct bolt-on but when you hear me say "LS1" , I'll never be talking about anything other than a vette, gto, f-body motors.
