Are you running a M6, or A4? Our cars come with a stock tach, granted they are slow on the revs. But if you need one for a M6 I would recommend saving your money and just buying a shift light. With a A4 you really dont need a tach because the computer does all the shifting for you. Just my $.02, but a 5 inch monster tach in a F-body just looks rice, and out of place.

But if you are hell bent on getting a aftermarket tach, then auto-meter is the only choice.

Sunpro also makes a 5" tach with a shiftlight, I think its significantly cheaper than the Autometers. Check out Autozone.

It's all preference if you ask me, I don't think ricer thoughts when I look up at a accurate tach. I've ran a 5" Autometer in all 3 of my Camaros.

Just get a shift light. If you're buying a 5" tach with a shift light, why not just cut out the middle man, the tach, and just get the light in the first place? It's not like you'll being watching the tach sweep up to shift, you're waiting for the light to go off.

I can't imagine the stock tach being that bad...the pos replacement stock tach I put in my car reads within 50-75 rpm of the odbII port in my car

and I agree, just get the shift light...or at least get a smaller tach...a monster tach on the dash creates a huge blind spot and looks like ultimate RICE imo

I've also never looked up and thought the tach was in any way obstructing my view. Ah well to each his own, I bet prior to the import craze and then the ricers no one gave a **** if your vehicle had a 5" tach in it.
