Save it, were in a bad time economically... Although saving and not consuming is not going to help the economy either...
I say exhaust and nitrous upgrades for the most maximum bang for your buck...

I've seen so much talk on this forum about the intake mods... I am shocked how much hype they get... Ewww, I got an LS6 intake, sometimes it sounds like some people got boost the way they hype these LS6 intakes.......
Curious, Do these LS6 intake upgrades really make that big of a difference? It's only the intake flow for god sakes on an N/A motor.. Really how bad and restrictive can the stock intakes be on a 99 T/A? I personally have never seen big gains from intake mods... Exhuast mods and cams are big but not intakes from my experience...
I am not talking about independant throttle bodies either.. What's the deal?

On a stock internal moter you'll see about a 5-10 rwhp gain, 2-3 tenths in the qt mile. Where the ls6 starts to shine is with a cam and heads that can use the extra air. So its a good mod for the "total" pakage. I've read threads where people have done cam swaps with the ls1 intake and then gained 20rwhp with the ls6 intake. I make 12#'s of boost with my blower with a ls1 intake I would probly make 14#'s of boost and less hp. The boost # is a measurement of restriction so the more you open up the engine the more it helps the big mods.

Thanks Conan for the reply... As I thought the LS6 intake doesn't make a big difference unless you do the cam and head mods to the motor... Manufactures and engine designers aren't stupid so they create the stock intake to flow and handle the stock engines power for fuel effeciency and power..... When you mod the engines internals and the pump (motor) spins faster then more and easier intake flow is beneficial..
At that point the modified motor experiences more restriction with the stock intake in place...
Basically your better off going with a KN filter for starters or something and save the cash until you get the engines internals modified to utilize the full potential of the LS6 intake...
That's pretty much my understandings of most intakes... I believe it's much more beneficial to concentrate on exhaust flow then intake flow when first starting off with mods...

What do you want to change?

yes the intake does make a good difference, i went from a cammed, with stock ls1, and then switched to a ls6 and made a huge difference up top..
if you have a A4 do a stall converter, that should be your number one things, then do headers and ypipe..

+1, find some used headers and ory (roughly 300) a good used ls6 intake and tb (roughly 300) a nice wet nitrous plate system with all the safety goods new or used (750ish?) and a good tune with the rest ofyour money...that car will be an animal...
and if you have an a4 do the stall converter and then save up for the nitrous..so it gets tuned with it all together

What are you goals with the car? Short and long term. Need to know that. Judging from your sig you want a decently quick car, but nothing ***** out. Comfort and interior are important to you. I say spend the money on some good seats that'll last a long time and look great. Then you can use tax money and do intake/full exhaust plus a tune to give you an edge over 'regular' fbody's cruisin around

Man Im amazed to see so many people here in love with the ORY, personally I like the way a car sounds without rasp, so I stuck with high flow catted y pipe. It makes the difference between a car that makes your ears bleed and a nice, mellow but deep sounding brute.
OP Im with everyone else, Headers/catted Y/ls6 intake. If your an a4 then Stall should be the first thing you buy.
Are ou going for a drag car or autox? If you want to handle you might as well bite the bullet on some konis right now.
