Yes. Amsoil is fully synthetic. Fortunately for me my dad has been a private dealer for Amsoil ever since I started driving so that is the only thing Ive ever ran in any of my cars.

1994 Grand Prix sold with 233k miles and still running strong!
1997 Camaro Z28 sold with 107k miles and still running strong!
1995 Chevy Silverado Z71 sold with 245k miles and still running strong!
1999 Trans Am currently 71k miles driven hard but still running strong!
1997 Grand Prix GTP currently 143k miles my DD and you guessed it.. still running strong.

I change my oil ever 10k miles on my DDs but on the Camaro and Trans Am I always changed them at 5k cause they were drivin harder and they never really needed it but it just makes me feel better lol

I personally have had very good luck with Amsoil and will probably never use anything else. Maybe ive also just had good luck with vehicles to lol.

I know a lot of things factor in but this is just my opinon. Oh and if you want to find out more Amsoil is one of our sponsors ------------>

to each their own

Do you see any oil consumption with your LS1 while using the Amsoil? My low mile LS1 consumes some oil (dont know exactly how much over the course of time or anything) This is with Mobil 1 5W 30.

my 02 TA with 23K miles never uses a drop of oil. ive autoxed and had track days with GC, which are much, MUCH harder then any street driving. the most was probably 5-7 autoxs, and at least 2 track days on one change, and i didnt notice the least bit difference when changing the oil.

if you STILL buy into their marketing bullshit, read up bobistheoilguy.com and learn for yourself. do a search for patman and his oil analyisis results. im not going to do your work for you.

Mobil1 is a sponsor there?

I have a question, while this thread is at the top.

Does anyone remember the big $500 giveaway that was done a few weeks ago?
Who was noted as the 'winner' in your screeen?
I have this sneaky suspicion that everyone who viewed it, had their own name as the winner, & had to submit their contact info.

I did, ..., & haven't heard anything since then. Was it a scam?!?

I have used both RP and Mobile 1. Ive since switched to GC. My motor runs way quieter and way smoother. My ticking was so bad with the other 2 oils that I thought I had a collapsed lifter and was going to change them all out, but now with GC the injectors are the loudest thing under my hood.

Auto Zone man. I called around to most of the auto zones here and they didnt have it, but I found one that always has it on the shelf.

autozones are hit and miss as to finding GC. some carry it, some dont. also, if you have them by you, check out R&S strauss. the one by me recently started carrying GC, and its about $1 cheaper then autozone.

last resort, you can get it online by the case from ws6store.com

I found it localy, but the bottles are a lil different here in canada. I just looked for the Made In Germany on the back, so im assuming this is the correct one?

Also it doesn't come in a large jug, just the small one litre ones.

I've only seen it in the 1 quart bottle. If it's Castrol Syntec 0W-30 and it says made in Germany on the back, you got the right stuff.

I don't see why anyone runs anything other than GC, with the exception of people who buy super cheap oil (which ain't worth it)

I would like to try it and see what all the hype is about, but I cant help but be bothered by that 0W rating. One side of me doesn't like it, but then when I think of it, my car is ONLY a summer car......

Why not? Having a "thinner" fluid at startup is only better for everything involved.

In reality the oil is more like a 5W40 than a 0W30 and its been proven in oil analysis.

Yes, I read that the 30 rating is actually closer to a 40 rating once at operating temparature.
