Default installing a gauge in the vents of a ta???

i am about to install a gauge in the side vent or the center vent of a trans am....do i need to block off the air passage so when i run the heat or the air it will not get to the gauge, or are they made to withstand that type of stuff? thanks in advance

I don't think you would need to block off the passage. I have a shift light in one of my center vents has been there for 3 years and no problems.

If you think about it, if you are running the a/c it is going to keep it cool! If you run the heat just put it on the floor. I wouldnt worry about it. What kind of gauge are you putting in?

I just installed my aeroforce in the center vent. Looks pimp, I leave it on throttle percent and water temp usually, but so many neat features. There is no good way to block off the air behind it as all three vents share a shallow common passage. Be prepared to bust that ucking vent piece to as they are almost impossible to get out in one piece. If you went with the speed inc vent adapter the fit is perfect even without any adhesive/hardware it stays
