CTSV or G8 GT?
Looking at trading my 01 WS6 in on a newer car. Ive been debating on either the CTSV or the pontiac G8 GT. Both are in the same price range used.
Which is the faster of the two? in stock form and with mods?
What do you guys think is the better car? Does one have better/stronger parts? Less stuff breaking? Cheaper parts prices? Etc etc
Thanks!!

You really cant go wrong getting either car. I personally like the G8 GT better. $30,000 new for a high 13 second car stock with soo much more potential. Quite a few vendors here have one, and have done a lot of testing and tuning on them. It seems like a new product is comming out almost every day for them.
My vote is for the G8 GT.

The V will be quicker, not all that much (less than half a second in the 1/4) but its still in the 13s. I'm not sure of the years but I know some years of the V had very weak diffs that would blow under stock power. You should look into this if you are serious about the V, sorry I couldn't give you more information on it, I just thought I would mention it.
I would think that parts for the G8 would be cheaper only because I assume there is a "caddy tax" much like the "vette tax".
Oh and of course the V is "litter" .
FWIW I would go with the G8 but good luck with whatever you get.

I would personally keep from the GTO on the basis of looks, and it has 2 doors(one of your requirements). The G8 is a great choice due to price and bang for the buck out of the box. Also, the aftermarket supports every other V8 car made from the big 3, it will be coming on fast for the G8 GT and GXP no doubt. Now on the caddy, it might be "higher quality" and have a few other perks, but how's this for an eye opener; the rear shocks in the parents caddy started acting up, and the price to replace them is $1700 in parts alone. Not saying that's typical, but you pay astronomically higher prices for parts with Cadillac stamped on either them or the box, just one of the trade offs when you get the top of the line branch. Oh yea, and in Missouri, you're going to need all weather or snow tires for either if you plan on using it in the winter.

the ctsv is the fastest sedan to ever go around the nurburgring. its much faster than the g8 and has 560 horsepower (200 more than the g8), and is a much nicer car. ctsv no contest.

Drove both and love them both. If you can get a CTS-V for the same price as a G8. Go CTS-V. Upside to the Caddy. T-56, cuffy leather seat, most have NAV screen, much larger brakes, re sell would probally be better than a Pontiac. A nice family sedan that has the potenial to be very quick.
