I'm in the market for a new car and I love camaros always have but just in the sense of curiosity I'm curious as to what the difference is between a 2003/2004 cobra and a 01/02 Camaro SS as far as insurance costs per month.
I'm almost dead positive that the Cobra will be more, obviously, as it comes stock with FI.
Anyone have any input on HOW MUCh more the termi is than the SS?
Thanks a lot guys,
-Cobalt

It all depends on your insurance carrier and how they class the cars.
Most larger providers (GEICO, State Farm, Allstate, etc.) use similar methods to class the cars and you should expect the Cobra premium to be higher (newer car with a greater value), however the difference shouldn't be anything major.
Interestingly enough, I used to use a local provider and they had a unique classification system -- one that was particularly unfriendly to many popular domestic sports cars. My premium would've been roughly $280/month for the SS -- I went with GEICO and got the same coverages for $108/month. I'm 28, live in Atlanta and have a clean driving record (at least for purposes of insurance).

Well I can tell your for sure on these since I have owned both!
Camaro SS full coverage $594.00 per year (500.00 deductible)
03' Cobra Full coverage $846.00 per year (500.00 deductible)
My driving record has not changed. I am 29 years old with a perfect driving record and excellent credit.
Hope this helps.
