I would keep it. It's a rare color that will grow on you. When I was looking for my Trans Am, all I NEEDED to have was a LS1 and a 6 speed. If it was a WS6, cool, if not, oh well. I didn't care about color at all since I liked the 8 or 9 colors* offered for Birds. I bought my Maple Red Metallic TA in Febuary 2005 and wouldn't go back to any other color. Yours being the rare Gold color and a WS6 Formula, I'd keep that **** in a heartbeat.
* = Not sure exactly how many colors were offered off the top of my head, but I'll add this disclaimer so nobody tries to jump in and correct my ****.

and no offense but id say that dealer is full of S***, nobody in there right mind is goin to pay 18-20 k for a 98 F-body reguardless of the color... Maybe an 01-02 but it would have to be really clean. I would say 15 is amazing since its a 98 and that being the most unapealing year outa all LS1 F-bodies

The only thing better on the '01/'02, IMO, is the LS6 intake and the 241 heads. You can upgrade both on a '98 car.
If mileage and condition was the same, I'd definitely pick a '98 over any other year. When it comes to the little differences between my '98 and my '02, I prefer everything about the '98 other than the heads & intake.

Damn... You sure seem to have hard time making a decision: Drive it or not? Mod it or not? Sell it or not? Sounds kind of weird to me...

ya same deal here, i was just looking and find a great deal on my red Z. no way i could pass it up, i love red now. i say sell it, that is a great deal to make 5k on a 98. with 15k you could buy atleast two pretty nice fbodies

Sell it and pocket the 5k for mods. You can find something just as nice(not as rare, but just as nice) for the 10k you spent.
BTW, I think I've met your friend before, he has a slight fetish for anything gold . . . .

IMO Id sell it, its not like its something that will change your life, and who knows you can always buy another for sure. 5k in profit should make a difference in anything when selling, I know I would sell in a heart beat. And its not like its the only Gold Formula WS6 in the world

Doubt it. There are only 6 just like it.
Yeah, it almost is like that actually.
Well, if you really wanted a SGM WS6 Formula, then you'd be a fool to sell this one for a mere $5k. I don't see $5,000 as life changing money, and it's not even significant enough to make me mildly consider selling my dream car. But, if this isn't your dream car, then I'd consider selling for the profit.
Thing is, you made it sound before like you actually would rather have a different color.....
If that is the case, you could sell the SGM car, pick up any black Formula for MUCH less than $15k, and buy a WS6 hood for it and pocket the left-over cash or use it for mods.

However its hard to turn a 5k profit on a car like a week after you bought it. If somebody offered me more than 5k what I paid for mine I would sell it, although mine isn't nearly as rare.
