Enter your zip code and select sort by distance.

FWIW - A year ago I bought a 2001 82,000 mile LS1 complete for $2500, they wanted $3000 for it with the A4 but I already had a built one so I got the engine only.

I drove 8 hours one way to pick it up from a private owned junkyard.

During my search I learned LKQ has a good warranty, but they sell stripped down garbage. They are a nationwide chain of stores. One wanted me to pay, come back in a week before even looking at one.

I'm sure there are guys parting cars out in your area, so remember to also check Craigslist.

Two weeks ago I bought two LS1+T56 combos with all accessories, wiring harness and PCM for $6K. One had less that 50K and the other 80K.

Certified Auto Recycling in Ardmore,AL. They have literally tons of LSX engines and almost anything else you think of. From Viper engines to Duramax engines, they carry it. It shouldn't be too far from you. Hope this helps.....

An ls1 with t56 for $3000 may be hard to find. People shell out $2500 just for the tranny.

Try to find a supplier or dealer around your locality.

I don't know what other people's experiences with them have been but mine have all been terrible.

I bought a rearend from them, I specified and stressed the fact that it had to be an LSD rear end so the car needed the RPO codes of G80 and GU6. They gave me a V6 rear end from a car with a GU4 RPO on the door. So it was the wrong gears and it was not an LSD. Then they didn't want to take it back and I hadn't even left the parking lot yet.

I bought what was supposed to be a low miles good condition 6.0 truck engine from them and when they set it down in the bed of my truck I knew there was a problem. There was a huge hole in the block from a thrown rod and the engine was just disgustly dirty and was missing both valve covers and now intake manifold on it either. And of course they did not want to give me my money back.

Both times they made me pay for the item before I could even see it. I very much hate that place and will never go back

Yea, like I said LKQ can suck a fat one.
They have a warranty, but you never ever see your money again. Whats that mean? It means warrantys are exchange only. So if you got something they no longer have--you're **** outta luck.

Their salesmen are ********.

I waited at one for a freaking hour to look at an LS1, only because it was in the warehouse. Yea, it was just pressure washed, nice and clean, inside the exhaust ports and all. Still I waited to ask about price, I ended up walking away. No one ever came back to answer my questions.

At another LKQ they took me back to see an LS1 on a pallet, it was broken in half!! yes I said the engine was broken in half. I asked the guy why he let me drive all the way over there to look at this piece of ****. I asked who in the hell would buy that. What genius made the decision to put that on a pallet and store it in the warehouse.
He said the crank is still good. For entertainment I asked how much for the crank, $500.

I think I have a point, if you can deal with this kind of bullshit try LKQ. If you're mentally unstable stay away, you'll end up killing one of these ******.

Yes, mostly in TX. I just follow various classifieds and I also know a couple of guys who buy cars at insurance auctions etc.
