You guys are lucky to have your lives, Im not going to preach as I've gone excessive speeds in the past.
now days I try to leave it on the track. A close call has left me wiser in my old age. lol

Goodluck with the recovery and the car. I think that is pretty cool you were representing the Camaro Community out there in Germany.

You cannot blame the other drivers. I am a MP in Heidelberg. Very typical, young driver, very overconfident, then you add speed and other factors and you end up with a case like this. I have a C5 corvette and it doesn't matter if there are a few cars or a crowded road, you slow down when you come up on traffic. You have to be a defensive driver, anticipate an idiot. I like to go fast just as much as you probably do. i think you need to mature a little and learn how to drive a high powered vehicle responsibly. Lucky your friend didn't die. bottom line is you are ULTIMATELY responsible for the control of your vehicle. yes somebody may have pulled out in front of you. But ask yourself if you had been doing 90mph or less would this have happened?

glad you are ok. i think almost everyone have gone those speeds before if not close to them. i am wiser to now as I was in a car that flipped at 90 and i got ejected and lucky to behere. Be caareful and have a full recovery.

p.s. Glad your both alive
Am i the only one that saw that it was 144kmph (not mph). This is only 90mph AND is the going rate for the autobahn in GE. Any slower and he is the guy that is going to be the hazard.

FYI

Once you've driven on the autobahn for a while you realize how ridiculous the speed limits are here in the US. It's really a waste of good highway on the US's part. You can travel safely at twice our speed limits if you don't have idiots on the road around you. And yes, most of the time when you see a wreck or a disabled vehicle in Germany it's an American involved because they couldn't drive or had a POS vehicle out on the road.

And OP I am glad you are ok and your friend is recovering.

Wow, seeing those pics make me value my car a little more. The cockpit looks to be in great condition considering the rest of the car. Hope your buddy is recovering well.

I too would like to know how the passenger is doing almost 2 years after the crash. Ditto on the 144KPH comment on being right around 90ish MPH.
