Almost at the 3 month anniversary of my crash (news for you)
Well guys, this is the first time i'm telling you guys about this, but on November 1st, 2008, I wrecked my baby Camaro. All of the info and the pics are on page 2 of this thread.
The thing that really sucked, was that it was the day after my 18th birthday party, 3 days after the day it self. Another thing is I was taking my friend down to the stores as he was looking into buying an Xbox after playing on mine... not knowing it would be a wasted trip as it was a holiday and the stores were closed. My friend is OK, he is still in rehab, "learning" to walk again and getting electro therapy on his arm that he really can't use right now. We are both very lucky to be alive at those speeds, the car proved to be very strong although I do have to say that the back of the passenger seat breaking is very annoying and I will be in contact with GM. I still really miss my Camaro and hope to have another one soon!
I didn't post this earlier as I've been having a hard time catching up in school, and was in danger of failing, semester exams are done, and I finally have time to relax.
Guys, you can never be to careful, watch out for ********* on the road. I've learned that it doesn't matter how good of a driver that you are.
EDIT: Pictures Added

Thanks guys. My friend is supposed to be getting out around March, but they say probably around late February as he is recovering pretty quickly. And I've found out that ABS does not work at 144KPH! (at least for me)

Yeah, will do, I tried to upload them to Photobucket, but only a couple made it on, so I'll play with it tomorrow, going to bed as it's 10:54 here.

Here is the desciption of what happened for those that cant see the link.
We were in the left lane, overtaking the slow traffic, when a car not looking pulled out in front of us. I slammed on the brakes and turned to the right to avoid them and ended up spinning around, hitting a grass embankment with the rear left, flipping the car and landing in the middle of the two lanes facing towards the side of the autobahn. No other cars were involved (German Holiday). My side of the car sustained the most damage, and I walked out with a cut up arm and 4 stitches in the top of my head. My friend wasn't so lucky as the back of his seat broke and he got shot out of the back window. (we were both wearing seat belts) I will leave it up to him to add more if he wishes.Location: Autobahn A5 after the Walldorf entrance towards Heidelberg.

To the OP: Are you American? Doesn't do our image any good if so. An AB patrolman in Germany who was a foreign exchange student a couple years ahead of me came back a few years ago said the worst drivers are Americans; mainly military who get off base.
Did you get any citations? I think the suggested speed is around 130 kph, right? I thought it was funny when he told me it was illegal to run out of gas on the AB.
To everyone giving the OP life advice, you'd be a lot better preaching to someone who hasn't had a high-speed wreck, not to someone whose learned his lesson the hard way. I've seen on this forum someone calling someone eles a dumbass who lost conrtol with drag radials in the rain and wrecked, then turn around a year later having put his car in the ditch during the rain with street tires. You bet I called his *** out on that one.

If you knew the rules of the Autobahn and how safe it actually is, you'd probably shut the **** up. The Autobahn is WAY safer than the Interstate and actually has LESS wrecks as well as fatalities than the Interstate.
