anyone ever wash there engine at the car wash

I sprayed my engine down with the car was hose once, i stood a few feet back and made sure not to blast anything directly. Then i drove right next door to the gas station and hit the engine with the air hose. Looked fine, nothing bad happened. I'm gonna try some engine brite degreaser and my garden hose here in the spring. That method worked good with my old 5.0, using the "cone" and "flat" spray settings on the the little hose nozzle i have.

Damp rag and elbow grease, plain and simple. Put a little time in it.

ive owned several lt1's, so spraying the engine compartment with water still scares the **** outta me!! haha
