Well I think I can give pretty good insight based on my location, Kentucky. I voted no, but there are quite a few rednecks here that do drag race. You can usually spot them from a mile away though. They drive the domestic cars that you can just tell don't run worth a ****, usually 80s S10s here. They're the people that look at my cars like they're UFOs, Godzilla, or some other mythical creature. They'll ask you what's done to it, then you proceed to tell them, and you might as well have told them in Spanish. However, the car does not make the driver a redneck.

Here's a telltale quote of a redneck: "Yeah she's got a Holley double pumper, 3/4 race cam, camel hump heads, and flowmasters."

Not at all. If you seen the type of people that drive lsx cars in the bay area then you'd see why i voted no.

LSX motors may be pushrod motors but there is way more technology in and around them to make it redneck. I would say if you are racing a 4th gen with reverse cragars on it and you swapped in a carbed SBC w/4 different plug wires on it then you are redneck!

I guess the question that has to be asked here is whether drag racing is redneck. Because I don't see what difference it makes whether you're racing an lsx or any other car

Yes and I don't mind. It's like that comercial "these guys got a little
captain in em" I probably have a little redneck in me when it comes to drag racing.

just about every non-caucasian girl i've dated has said i am the first black redneck they've ever met. one called me "the undercover redneck" because we still lived in the hood, lol.

I think a lot of non-hotrodders would say we are rednecks, just for dragracing in general. but like the other guy said, better to be redneck than race rice and be gay, lol
