I totally agree. You need to get all that power to hook, so a rearend and slicks

on an auto i would go built tranny before the rear, the trannys tend to go first from what i have seen, and i have seen a couple autos dip into the 10's on stock rears

Built tranny or rear. It's cool to add more go fast parts like heads and suspension to hook better but when the tranny or rear goes pop there you are stuck and have to fork out the cash anyway or let the car sit.

Rear/slicks/suspension.

Why add more power when you could use your power more efficiently?

Are you installing yourself? If you have a set of slicks and the car is a cam/spray, then yes i would upgrade the rear. Unless you get stuff used and install yourself, you may not have enough cash for that.

Because that's boring, roll race the world with a 200shot of nitrous and a big nitrous cam till she blows up.

Most of the stuff i have is installed myself. The nitrous I didnt. So the best route to go from what everybody says is tranny and rear.

Id also say tranny before rear, I had two stock transmissions and they both went before my rear. 3/4 clutch pack failed and boy does it suck when you have to drive even 10 miles home going 40-45 in 2nd. we put a z pack in the rear end and all new clutches for 1-2 in it. the rear end we put timken bearings, a mac girdle and moser axels in when the bearings got noisy even though it didn't need axels or a girdle at the time just wanted to add some stuff to prolong the rear also and haven't had a problem since with the tranny or rear end.

Idk me and my dad rebuilt mine he had rebuilt transmissions before. If I bought one either performabuilt, xtreme - https://ls1tech.com/forums/automatic...sion-sale.html, or Finish Line Transmissions more than likely. There are many sponsors building them just figure which one you like.

For starters.. How much rwhp are you making with the "laughing gas"?

Second, How many miles are on the car?

The 10-bolt is known to live a long life with the automatic, despite contrary opinion I know guys running 1.4 60 fters on the stock 10-bolt

For your case, you are LS1 so your bottem end is fine for now, your cam-only will be making plenty of power.

I would tell you to work on the tranny first if you have less than 400rwhp
If you have more than 400rwhp, go with the rear-end first.

Either way, you are going to need to swap out your tranny (performabuilt, FLT, etc.) if you want your car to last and you are going to have to swap to a Moser 9", 12-bolt if you want your car to last.

Just my .02

If your making that much N/A, then I'd say you need to invest in both! Since your auto only has 50k, I'd say rear-end first.. until you replace the tranny, I'd say keep easy on it
