hey guys just wondering if anyone with experience could tell me what its gonna take to run around a pullied 04 cobra tuned with headers and exahust?

 

something faster than a pullied 04 cobra tuned with headers and exahust.

 

i just did a search on "how to beat a cobra" and 8 pages came up. 22 threads on each page.

 

You'll need to run bottom 11's providing the driver of the Cobra can drive and if he's
on a drag radial or better. If he's a fair driver, mid 11's will do the trick. If he's a shitty
driver, high 11's. If you're racing from a roll, you'll need 120mph traps at a minimum.

My suggestion would be to run him 2 out of 3 races. Heat soak will rob about 50rwhp
from him on the 2nd run since he hasn't modified the intake, heat exchanger, etc.

The mods in your sig should be plenty.

 

I was stading post last light and this kid comes through in a 04 so I ask him if he wants to race it he is like when I like whenever he is like what do you have I say a camaro. He was like this thing is supercharged I was like I know, they come that way from the factory so I ask what mods do you have he say cold air intake and a cat-back he was like I'm doing about 600 to the wheels I was like oh is that right. I knew he was lieing I cant wait to catch him I'm going to stomp that fool. And the sucker said he paid 27,000 for it I was like wtf thats way to much oh well I hope I get to catch him.

I'd say you need to run low 12's to take that Cobra. I ran one a few years ago at the track with my 93 T/A. He had a tune, pulley, and a full exhaust. When he hooked he ran 12.1x, I beat him a few times when he got a shitty 60' time.

those cobras are fast. wouldn't hurt to have a little nitrous if you got the fueling for it.

theres a sweet vid of a cobra vs. a z28 on youtube, the cobra has about 460 to the wheels with a pulley and exhaust and the z28 has longtubes, some boltons, and a 100 shot laying down 455 horse and 555 tq. without the nitrous, sure that cobra was running all over him, but that 100 shot made that cobra look, well, not so fast. try and find it, the cobras white and the Z28 is black.

all i can say is stock for stock the LS1 runs beside a blown cobra, which is funny that ford had to put a supercharger on a mustang to get it to keep up with the LS1. dont get me wrong, its a good motor, but in a different bracket none the least.

Read my post above. I went 11.29 with less mods than the Cobra you mentioned. Driver ability makes all the difference in the world.

 

It was two "litte" typos, actually....you still have one to fix.

cobras vary tremendously via the driver. I have seen similar cobras in low 11's and idiots running low to mid 12s. Some people cant launch that power and hook

My bad for the jacked up post. The kid I was talking about said he didn't really know how to drive it that well yet either. I was like oh man then you will really get spanked, he said sometime next week if I can catch him around we will race I just seriously doubt he is doing 600 to the wheels with a catback and cold air intake. I call bullshit on that one.
