Trying to learn about transmissions and what is PWM on a 4L60E in an LS1?

do some searching around and look in the auto trans section. there are some good sponsors there who know about the 4l60s.....

It's pulse width modulation.
The early lock up clutches were applied either 0% or 100%

PWM allows for a smoother apply and different friction materials in the torque converter clutch (TCC)
PWM basically can apply the TCC at different amounts allowing the tcc to slip for smoother apply.

i believe the trans-go shift hd2 kits do something to the pwm function to make it more performance oriented....

Yes, it eliminates it. Makes lock up more firm so it's back to either 0% or 100%
The PWM solenoid still thinks it's pulsing though, the transgo kit does it mechanically.

What about the B&M Trans pak shift kit. I put one of those in and changed the springs in the valve body with that one does that do anything with it. Mod's could you please move this to the AUTOTRANS section.

If you want replies, delete this thread, post a new one in the transmission section with a specific question.
Mods may not move this, I wouldn't it's not specific enough if they did.

I'd say reword it, tell what you're working with and what you want to know about it, get to the ponit of what you're asking, and post a new thread in the trans section.
