Do whatever you want, but keep in mind that once you cut it, you can't go back. I'm a tall guy and my elbow hits the glove box when I'm trying to shift. I have to remove the center console for track days. It might not be a problem with a longer shifter.

i cut the stock hurst, pro 5.0, and a umi short stick and havent had any problems with them. on each shifter i cut about 1 inch off and then i took a file and took the burrs off the first thread and bammm it worked like a charm!! i dont understand spending 20 bucks plus shipping when it can be done for free!

I like the way everyone is telling you to buy a short stick for like $20. Guys!! Like me, he has a B&M ripper. He can't switch out the stick. He can either cut it or get another shifter. I want to cut my B&M down as well. I actually like the shift of my B&M and want to keep it. I started a thread just a couple of days ago about it. Cut it dude, i'm going to.

Here's why I thinking of cutting the shifter down. I just installed a new pistol grip handle and it may turn out to be a little long. I'll know after I drive it for a while.

JUST CUT IT ALREADY!!!! the worst that can happen is your forced to spend 20 bucks. i cut mine a long time ago. i enjoy that it is shorter but still would like to get a short throw shifter and if it ends up being too tall well_______ CUT IT!!!
