Default Steering stiff after car sat all winter?

Started my car today after about 5 months sitting in the garage and took it for a drive, the steering seems very stiff. Would a rack bind up from sitting so long?

Did you check the power steering fluid level?

fluid level is fine, when i took the cap off the air pressure almost blew it off, thought air may have gotten into the system, i mtried moving the weel lock to lock a few times with the cap off, today i will suck the fluid out and put fresh fluid in and see what happens

generally, any fluid is thicker in colder weather. probably whats making things a lil stiffer. also could be stiffer since it hasnt been driven in awhile because of the seals

It could be any of the above^

but depending on what you have been driving during the winter, it just might feel a lot stiffer by comparison.

That's my guess. My TA steering is stiffer than a cob by comparison to my DD and my winter beater pickup. But, it works.

Once I've been driving it for a bit, I don't notice.

Yea it could just be cause its cold out like said above. I know shifting in cars is stiffer until the car warms up in winter so maybe just wait until its like 70-80 outside and u drove it for like a week. Might just be that simple thing?
