change insurance companys...any company that doesnt insure v8 cars is too crappy to have with any vehicle... im paying 111 a month for full coverage on my 02 z28 and my wifes 04 honda accord. Im with farm bureau. of course im 28 too but not bad for anyone with a clean record...

I pay 40.25 a month for liabilitly on my SS and I'm 21. I go through american family. Just buy a V-6 Car and swap in an LS1. The vin shows that it's a 6 cylinder. My buddy did that with a mustang and he still pays 6 cylinder insurance. He get's tickets out the *** and they never ask him anything about it being a 6 cylinder car with a v-8.

I thought about it, but it just isn't worth my time.

Anyways, just did a Progressive quote.

95 Camaro- Me primary
03 Neon- Mom primary
81 Turbo T/A- Me recreational

Came out to $4600 a year. I think that would be more than what we are paying now. I am sure it would be less if my mom called them and actually set it up. I am not sure if that is liability or full, but everything is on the lowest setting.

I guess that would be about right. My mom said she pays $500 a year or 6 months, can't remember. So $1500 for the camaro, and the same for the T/A.

Idk, doesn't add up.

Going to call our insurance tomorrow and see if no V8's is a load of **** or not.

Joshu, you're somehow getting a better deal than anyone I've ever heard of. I'm wondering what your tax status is...independent/ dependent? Who's name is on the title, yours or someone related to you with a little more age under their belt. The number just seems way low, especially for state farm. But what do I know, I've gotta be the unluckiest person still alive with all their limbs.

I bought my 2000 z28 when I was 19 and full coverage cost me $190 a month through state farm. But your mom is full of it with the v8 anything. With state farm atleast it mostly has to do with the year of the vehicle. I had a 95 eagle talon Tsi Awd and it was classified as a sports car just like the camaro. So we thought hey we'll put my dad on my talon and me on his 97 mercury grand marquie. It was more expensive strictly because it was 2 years newer, it was classified as a family sedan and they don't even consider engine size or hp for that kind of car, just the value.

I also had a 87 chevy 1/2 ton 4x4 v8 when i was 19. Liabilty coverage on it was $50 a month. It was so much cheaper stricly cause of its age. I had the camaro at the same as the truck and the liability part of the camaro insurance cost like $120 the full coverage part was another $70.

When I bought the car (titled in my name I was 21) I was a dependent. This year I filed as independent. I don't know if that will change anything. All I know is my agents old lady secretary likes me.

I ran into the same problems just go to a small insurance company they specialize in those situations. And then when you turn 25 go to a bigger one. The smaller companys saved me a lot when under 25. The bigger ones saved more after 25

right now im 23 and i pay $90 a month for full coverage on my z28. What i guess im saying is what you pays drops pretty fast as you get older. I've heard the biggest drop is when you turn 25.

Yeah I remember paying 200+ for several years, no tickets. Not really much you can do about it except shop around or find a slower/cheaper car to insure but that's not much fun either.

Those companies are pretty high for insurance. I couldnt afford them. I am 39, no points or tickets for at least 6 years. I pay $1250 a year for full coverage, $500 ded. on the SS (which prolly should be cheaper) 800 a year for the GTP $1000 ded. Thats through Amica. I just got a quote from Unitrin & they wanted $400 more a year. I would try Progressive, Amica, Farm Bureau, or any small company. Some people do get good rates with State Farm & Allstate, they were not the cheapest for me though.

call up insurance companies and ask for a quote, doing it online gives a more expensive quote. Tell them your daily driving your v6 or neon and thats your ls1 fbody is your weekend car.

when i changed my insurance last week, for ***** and giggles i asked how much cheaper it would be to insure a 98 honda civic over my 98 trans am......the honda was more money becaus it didnt have abs, drls, etc. plus hondas have a higher percentage of getting into accidents. power of the car has nothing to do with higher rates.

believe me, you dont want to get caught rolling with no insurance. techincally you cant even register a car unless you have insurance. so if you get pulled over, your looking at no insurance and improper registration. those tix would **** you over for the next 10 years; play it safe.

With State Farm, I have it made. Still on a multi-line policy with my parents... at least until this fall when I get married. (but I will turn 25 a month later anyway) $72/month for full coverage (collision/liability/incidentals) w/$500 deductible. My agent let me keep my good student discount from college, been out almost 2 years already. No points.

I can't, it is the only car I have right now and I can't have it down for that long. Plus all I have is $2500. I am probably getting this 80 T/A WS6 SE or another T/A.
