i am going to fix a leak this weekend but have no idea if i have more problems. would like to hook it up to a vacuum to see if it holds. can you rent these? how much would a shop charge you to do it? i don't really want to spend $150 on a vacuum and then have it not hold...

The only place that would rent a vacuum pump would be a AC supply shop.
If you lived in AZ I would let you use my Snap On pump. It cost me 200 Bucks and that @ a 50% discount.
So far I used it twice.
